I'm a mature player with job, but 10-15$ is far too much. I'm not getting big enough money to spend it often like this.

So is it a case of soda, two coffees a month, or a pack of smokes that's eating that for you?

Sure that's better, but that also has its issues. For example that I'm now going to avoid logging in unless I know exactly what I'm going to do for the next few hours and do it as quickly and efficiently as possible, which isn't nearly as fun as just taking my time running around doing whatever. There's a reason why this system isn't in almost any other game, instead opting for the "X days trial" system.

I have no problem paying for a game I enjoy playing. It also cleans up the player populace, which in this case is a good thing. However, I am concerned about server wipes, and the lack of meeting up with other players you want to play with. When I get the chance to actually play, the server needs to be a tad more stable before that, I will test the game out for sure.

no matter how you look at it, the pricing is outlandish.

1) For a one-time 15$, jorbtar will spit in your face with 24h/month, which is barely enough for a casual gamer.
2) A 10$ subscription is almost as much as a finished AAA+ MMO costs.
3) The 15$ for 1 month of tradeable gametime is essentially EVE's hidden P2W system.
4) But apparently tripple-dipping isn't enough, so let's sell hats on top of that.

Seriously - Guild Wars 2 offers unlimited playtime for 50$. Imo asking for more than that for an indie alpha game is simply unreasonable. I mean, as expected, the first thing that happened is that the servers immediately crashed. If you wanna pay that much for a game like that and then brag about how "i can afford it" because "i have a job!!!", knock yourself out. While you're at it, don't forget to mention that you also have a girlfriend. I'm sure the internets will be impressed...

I'm not consuming any of that kind. I just have important things to pay. I can like don't pay for internet and pay for H&H but then, I still won't be able to play. Don't try to be smart guy.

I'm on the same page. I'm not saying P2P is an amazing god-send, just that, I can totally see why they did it.
Plus, which MMORPG has ever had a perfect/stable launch right of the bat? This will clear up in 3 days when everyone's free playtime expires. :D

Kuriak wrote:Look at all the people in this thread who don't even understand how the payment system works.

It's a month of played game time (720 hours), not a 1-month period. I doubt many of you have even come close to playing that many hours total.

Essentially it's a $15 game, unless you go totally nuts.

No it isn't. "Game Time lets you play completely unrestricted while it lasts, regardless of how much time you spend logged in."
