Troll thread, just a kid lashing out in anger and shitposting. Hafen is an objectively better game. There's no logical reason why a new old H&H world even needs to be started (I can't think of any). All the players who play on W7 are doing so out of nostalgia I guess, or to continue working on what they've done in that world. That's fine. But, if you want a new world in an improved game that's why world 8 exists.

Good news! You only need to verify your account to play old haven as much as you like!

As long as that lasts. And once it's gone, I can not play it again. Ever. No updates, nothing. I liked the old art style, it was cute and unique.

Now it just looks like any other greenlit steam game. Or perhaps even worse.

Lol, isn't that the rub, and so obvious. Called "no shame". Pretty much all that's left for this kind of fix, though not exact is Banished. Thankfully that's a professional outfit. Though the base game is bare, there is an official sanctioned expansion called Colonial Charter. Newest version "New Frontier" finally adds military operations, with forts, military building units and weapons, and randomly spawning "Natives" to trade or fight. Granted it's not an mmo, but nothing since H&H, now gone, comes close to the satisfaction many aspects of H&H can bring. Best thing, after you get the base game, the Expansion is totally free. (Google Banished and Colonial Charter for it). Also the simplicity of expanding the game is a Godsend. Just download CH:NF and pop into the WinData folder within Banished, start game, click mods, activate mod, find yourself quickly in a heaven you may find more than slightly familiar. You can get it many places including Steam and GOG and it's often on sale. As I said, it's not totally the same, but the game is about the closet thing I've ever found that can satisfy many of the aspects I enjoyed in H&H. It is a real shame things went this way, lots of folks are extremely hurt and upset at what, and the way, this stuff was done to us. After 8 years, I think it's time to support people who really care about their players. Banished is certainly one of those if anyone (SInce I've seen several people ask about similar games) wants to check it out. The newest expansion should give you much joy and perhaps ease the loss of this one in some ways.

^ ban for advertisement (tho Banished IS a great game, but a SP game, not an MMO).

To be completely honest, I still prefer how the original Haven operated more, but it's probably more so the fear of change than anything. Just a bias.

As I see it, if enough people stay for the P2P, it will be fine. 200-400 actives should be enough to provide SOME MMO aspect in it all. Now if pretty much everyone quits and we're left with <50, it will turn very sour and most of us will get bored and quit in a few months time. As much as Jorbtar try to convince that the game will be fine with a smaller playerbase, after all these years, I just can't agree :/

There's no going back to HH1 now. All we can do is support the current iteration and hope it gets better and better and the population stays decent.

"New world in old haven with some updates" is Hafen. The update is an engine and graphical update. And you're in luck, it just happens to cost $10/month. If you don't like updates, then W7 is still there.

Id say in Hafen combat and much more stuff were totally reworked. So it's totally not the same old hoh anymore. Different game with different game mechanics/graphics. Only same thing is crafting~.

2011 your avatar says? You know how often other games are mentioned and discussed, there's even been entire threads on other games, screenies from others games, threads on "Similar games" ect,ect over the years. People even ask right out for similar game discussions and freely compare and always have.

Perhaps you are right, perhaps a small private club will give them whatever funds they require to pay their monthly bills or trips to the off-license. It has, aside from hermits and farmers, been that way since the beginning but then it was free, and this gave the private mighties, someone to grief, I tend to think your small private club idea, griefing each other, would be very boring to most in the end. I guess we'll see if that small private club thing works for them and you.
