Tried to tame 2 aurochs and 2 sheep now, all of them eventually poofed. All of them with clover -> leash -> hitching post -> battle stance -> win fight -> they thrash wildly (have to use clover again) then releash to hitching post and next time they go battle stance I win and they run away then I can't give them a clover or leash them and if I leave the map for 5-10 mins they disappear completely.

Really bad unintuitive/broken mechanics right now, this seriously needs to be looked at.

Taming has always been one of worst things in this game. You should join village with already tamed animals

I've had the same problems. The last 4 cows I've tried to tame have resulted in me beating them in the fight, being careful not to hit them after they try to peace me. I peace them and then am unable to clover or rope them back to the hitching post. They just thrash wildly then despawn when off screen.

Has anyone successfully tamed anything yet? If so, please provide some tips.

This mechanic is much more difficult and time consuming then the in Legendary.

One question, have you guys fought the cow face to face? I thought it would remain attached to the hitch post so I aggroed from afar to build my defences up, imagine my surprise when it kicked my face in. Is this intended?

Currently, it seems to be intended. I got my ass kicked by a mouflon, who had about 9 million initiative on me before I could put up my first defense. I think this has happened to more than will admit.

Personally, I feel the animal should remain tethered during the taming sessions. JMO

You can use signposts/logs to block them in to the tethering post and attack through a gap.

When I did that, I ended up killing it. I'm not sure if it was because of the gap making things wonky, but a yellow 0 floated up 3 hits before death. I thought it was supposed to be non-zero, so figured it was hhp damage or something.

...

I'm dumb. Time to wait another 24hrs, although I might get lucky and have them patch the clover rehitch bug before then.
