Except you'd put them on before you logged out so you could get that authority bonus for your village when you logged in and your curios finished.

So now that everybody is all done being disappointed about the fur cloak

What else can I look forward to being disappointed for?

Should I even bother tanning if everything from the tanning tree apparently doesn't do a single thing?

AKA: Did I waste all my LP? Tanning is a waste of LP? A complete waste of LP? A BEGINNER TRAP if you will?

I have sewing too.

Palisade requires leather, backpack requires leather, many things require it.
Very useful skill especially for beginners.

I meant sewing, not tanning sorry.

Is sewing useless? Besides the leather backpack.

That is good question indeed.
I think sewing is quite useless for first day or so. But when you get crops and stuff it will become real useful.

Wearable items such as bear cape, which gives strength boost; the quality of finished product has sewing and dexterity factored in its final quality result.

(ie a quality 80 bear hide and quality 80 strings to make it, does not mean it will be a quality 80 bear cape. The sewing and dexterity skills will factor in as well)
The wiki pages go into detail regarding hard cap and soft caps, based on quality and skill levels

So if I were to create a bear cloak with high stats, and one with low stats, they'd give different STR boosts?

I've been told to basically ignore it early game, so I'll just keep it in the back of my mind for now.

stats of everything are base * sqrt(q/10). So a q10 item gives the base stat boost, and a q40 item gives double, q90 is triple, etc.
