But it said the card could not be used (debit method). Kind of vague :? , more info as to why it isn't working would be nice. I doubt you have control over that but just in case I figured I'd mention it.

I'm gonna try to buy a gift card from the store and pay with that tmrw. I'll let you know how it goes :)

You'll need to check with PayPal as to why they aren't accepting a method of payment. The payee has little control over what PayPal does in the middle.

i have to say also, shortly after verifying my account, a charge of 800+ euros(im not from europe) was made on my card to a website called hwrax.com. i dont know if its related to seatribe, or not. i ran an antivirus scan and found nothing. Using amber client if it matters. Just struck by the coincidence too. i managed to block the transaction and got my money back.

JLo would never have access to your card/bank information is the thing. You're giving that to Paypal and Paypal is giving your money to JLo. So while that is eerily coincidental it's just that, coincidental.

In cases like this it's good to ask yourself following questions:
1. do you use the same login / password, as for paypal, anywhere else?
2. did you pay anywhere on the internet with your card?
3. where else did you pay with paypal? Are those places trusted?
4. Are you 100% sure that, whenever you used paypal, you really were on paypal page? Guess you would have to check URL in browser's address bar and verify security certificate. Some middleman attacks, or fishy websites might redirect you to a page looking exactly like paypal, functioning as an overlay for the real page (thus logging with your acc details to the real paypal and showing you real paypal's content), but logging your acc details somewhere.
5. did you ever log to paypal from not your computer? Internet cafe, friend's PC etc.
