The only people that have died in brodgar are a few slaves and 2 mains, considering we live in the noob grid, I would say our track record is good.
Compare that to rhlei and ainran, they live hours from the noob grid, and they lost 10+ mains between them.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

The thing is Robben has not announced the trade routes being open for people from anywhere. Even I have to avoid walking near to Brodgar, since I will most likely get attacked with all my shiny gear :(

My gaming has yet to change and likely will, as I have not been able to play since the game change, I got till my sunday night before i can even see if its changed me in anything. the ability to build a tower that likely is a bigger change to me. One that will likely be a dream for many months. I am glad I can able to build what I have at this time. yes the gate change... means my mistake when i finished my gate is less of an issue, but still. I messed up and will pay for it one day on that......

That isn't true at all. We don't attack on sight ever. Considering the recent attacks, we would be quite cautious though, but if you could show who you are, and that you mean no harm, you can travel here without anyone batting an eye.

Is Ainran still bothering you? I thought you have calmed down. I would still wait for a public announcement before entering the city.

nope, zero issues since taking out rhlei, they sent in a few rage alts, but now that the combat got changed, they are about as dangerous as a swarm of ants.

It might be too early to see any change overall. In my very quiet corner of the world, nothing has changed so far. I still close the gate whenever heading out to forage. It just feels very weird to leave it open. But I have started to plan a small trading hub, an extension of my claim when I get my b-wall up. Place for all the hermits in the area to come trade with me. I would really like that. The loss of trading for ingame items hit my playstyle hard, and I would love to be able to do that again on a smaller scale. Since I have more money than time, I am tempted by the token-trade, but have not succumbed yet.

No point leaving gates open except for barter stands. Hoping they're on the way.

Yeah, it has hit my playstyle hard as well but I'm not even tempted, unfortunately for my game, lol. I did think about doing exactly what you have in mind, but it's time for me, esp now I have a char in a village too, but I hope you do and I hope more people do as well, it would be lovely to have various trade hubs around the world you could go to for trading with in-game goods. Let me know if and when you set it up. :)
