The level of bullshitness in this game.

As a buddist, I am pretty aware what it means. However, it has been highly stereotyped with Hitler because people tend to remember the negative things first.

That was directed towards the TC as well as the people in game who are dropping it on people's front lawn. It's rather unfortunate though that the majority of people don't know it's meaning and it's become seen as something that it is not.

oh cmon, stop that bs. as someone who grew up with the culture, it only sounds like an excuse of those in the west... if you actually know what it means, you should be fully aware that you wouldnt vandalize and draw 卍 or 卐 on other peoples property without certain intention... its completely different from people drawing it in their own yard or their own banner. what the "minority" who pretend to understand it is ignoring the context behind the action, and saying "people dont understand the true meaning" really annoys me sometimes at times like this. people have different definitions of each term and symbols and you cant force them to apply what you know it means.

Things will likely change, for better or worse, in coming updates probably.

im sorry to hear how you feel about all the events happened, but, it sounds like you just want to let them win. not everyone celebrates christmas as some christians do, and many people in real life do plan to commit crimes on such occasions too. that said, i cant blame you for wanting to quit. i rather wouldnt want to let the raiders feel like they won by achieving what the they intended to do, though.

Hardly, Tonkyhonk. Of course I'm not one of the culprits vandalizing, as I've only recently started playing the game. But my point still stands that the people doing the act is likely ignorant to the symbols origins, like many people I've encountered are, and think that it comes from Hitler. It's not my culture and I'm not going to pretend to know everything behind it, but I at least understand that it wasn't something made by Hitler.


*Edit* Just an example. Went to eat at a Mexican restaurant with a couple friends. Love the food there, and they had recently moved into a new building / area from where they used to be, now situated in downtown. Well in the pillars of the building and in the restaurant itself there were small tiles with different symbols, all typically showing positive meaning and what not. One of the symbols was the swastika. One of my friends spoke up that they thought it was offensive and really was thinking the place was supporters of Hitler. That was embarrassing.

But back to the topic, yes yes.. I am well aware that the people who are 'vandalizing' the lawn of the TC are doing it with the threat of ill intentions, never once denied it. But that doesn't change the fact that those who did it likely are ignorant butts that know nothing about it themself. xP

my point is that those who do it know enough what they are doing. i wouldnt expect you to know what a young japanese mean by "its 卍", and it is not because of ignorance, but because it has a lot to do with the culture you are brought up with or surrounded by.

It is no problem. I hear about these people all the time on the forums. Not the ones drawing swastika everywhere exactly, but all the raiders and people murdering new players and such. I've been playing for a full week now and because of the forum posts I keep jumping every time I see another player show up on the same screen as me. But so far I haven't encountered anyone like mentioned on the forums.. they've all been pretty nice. Some even gave me 'presents'. Like a boar they killed. o.o

there are indeed a lot of nice people in this game too. but for some reason, "those people" move around more often trying to find targets and meet more people, so there is a high chance you would eventually come across one or more of them in game, and besides, such encounters give bigger impacts on your game itself, resulting in making you feel like theyre the majority. i hope you can deal with such events somehow when you run across them later.

If it happens it wouldn't take the enjoyment out of the game for me to be honest. I would probably make a new character and start again, perhaps with a different idea or 'build' to try out in mind. One player I befriended in game talked me into making an alt for this reason, so I've been playing two characters here and there.

When I wrote my first post in this thread, I've wrote that most of you probably won't understand it, I was aware what will happen and I wanted to see some more shitposting. Noone rammed me, noone killed me when i was sprucecap noob, noone draw a swastika in front of my gates. I'm reading the forums and I see what is happening, for you all of this shit can be trolling or swastika can recall something else (even if raiders says some bullshit with riders). That's the information for people who see something wrong in such behaviour ingame, because the others who think that you can say to anyone "I raped your mother, sister and brother" and then if somethings go wrong, they always can add "dude just a jk calm down" won't get what I mean anyway.

No, haven is not real life, in some countries for shit like doing swastikas and saying things which as I said before I don't want to quote, you can even go to prison, and here thats a reason for people to laugh their ass off and their appreciate that. That's standard and normal behaviour for you.

To clarify, I'm opposed to the disturbing level of verbal trolling involved in raiding. I get that raiders gonna raid, and as long as it's a part of the game it's well within their right to do so. I would however like to see less gratuitous vulgarity mixed into the raiding process. Can always roleplay some cheesy line, don't need to go above and beyond to act like you were pulled out of the asshole of political incorrectness incarnate. That way the victim has some banter and a laugh, and comes back to either retalliate or get thrashed. But then you get the people that make you think you're playing the game with 13 year olds raised in sewers and that in itself can easily make one want to quit, and reinforces the idea that the game is dead as far as likeminded people are concerned (in terms of level of intellect only, not determination ingame or ingame activity of preference).
