i live in Belgium, which is west of Germany, north of France and east of the UK so we have some good alcohols (beer from the Netherlands though globally known is TERRIBLE, don't waste your money on it). many different kinds of beer here, some are very good, most no outsiders will have ever heard of. Kasteelbier is one of my favourites, it comes in brown and blonde versions (i guess in english that would be dark and light?), as well as a rouge version too which is with cherries and surprisingly good. some good lagers are Cristal from my province, Stella and Leffe (there's also Leffe 9, for 9%, an ale version). Duvel is also mighty good, a brown ale. West-Vleteren is considered our best beer and best kept secret, there's a limited supply and pretty expensive as it's still brewed by monks using traditional methods, you have to reserve it months ahead. the wine is also quite good if you order it in decent restaurants, but my wine knowledge pales in comparison to my beer knowledge.:p
my area is also famous for its gin, not a big fan of it but it's fun once in a while. my father in law makes his own with lemons. there's a yearly festival here kind of like oktoberfest where it comes in all flavours you can imagine (cactus ftw) and there's a fountain statue called the Gin Man that starts pouring gin instead of water 24/7 until the festival is over. they had a new flavour this year with violets (the flower) which i loved but can't find it anywhere anymore.
the irish pub i frequent (The Hedgehog) makes something called deadly medicine, not sure what's in it but i like it, though many people don't hence the name i guess.

it's at least a few different varieties of Guinness with a raw egg and some kind of liquor added.:p
also like me some baileys for sipping, mojitos and blue lagoons for cocktails, and sambuca and tequila for partying.:p
