Auto-hearth is then updated to equip 2 tsacks and degear lol

This has been an issue since the the first custom client was made way back not long after someone decompiled the object code. (Ok, I don't know it was that long ago, but we've been reading about it since at least 2011.) Let's not act like it's something new. We have a timer on "Return to hearthfire" because the client feature went public. Maybe if they fix the auto-aggro script and make you people trip over your own feet for using it, then they can say they kept the balance of power.

Personally, get rid of teleporting home. Crossroads, roads, and such where you have a beginning and ending to the trip are fine as it makes the world small enough to be usable, but teleporting home with no consequences really is flawed. Sure, it sucks having to walk out an hour or two to forage some stuff and then walk back, but with smart planning, I can walk out an hour to my destination, and then walk 5-10 minutes to a friendly base and use their charterstone or road there to get back home.

Notice the nice fix to this? Notice the complete lack of supporting game mechanics?

Which frankly wouldn't always be that reliable. At the same time, it can be easily made useless by making the calculation be determined by a, say "Armor weight" debuff that only decays naturally 20 seconds after unequipping each piece of armor.
Think of it as a delay of sorts that makes it so your armour will be affecting your ability to fast travel even up to 20 seconds after having been unequipped. Likewise, it could be made so even armour in your inventory adds to this weight debuff of sorts, and maybe the red handed buff could further add to this teleportation time delay.

Simply put, people that aren't out to fight (and therefore are not geared up for that) can just teleport out using autohearth or whatever, but anyone with the intent to fight will either have to fight armor-less just to keep their fast home travel (which isn't a great idea) or just have to deal with the extra teleportation time (and by extension their inability to escape an encounter through teleportation means).

4real tho the only good fix would be adding more time

There can be 2 combat phases introduced
"threatened" - when other character clicks an attack on you
"fighting" - when distance between them is less than x tiles.
Then all the tricky game rules and logic can be placed there. Like autohearth is slown down or disabled or depends on whatever.

For weak char protection I'd suggest "run for your life" skill which should
a) drop 50/75/100% of both inventory and equipped items
b) give temporary boost to runing away (please balance so skilled and persistent attacker is still able to chase down his prey)

Or completely separate solution - dependence between armor and move speed, which kinda goes to realism.
From real world observations and experiments I could say that heavily armored person can run with a speed of unarmored human, but for a shorter distance(2-3 times). And terrain (sand, swamp) impacts way more on a heavily armored person

PVP toggle with a 2 hour cool down switching from pvp to non-pvp, red handed cannot toggle with debuff active. I can already hear the wailing crys of Wah!!! Noone wants to pvp me! Seriously Is PVP the ONLY reason people play Haven and Hearth? Or is it that we so called carebears are just so less vocal in the forums?

Most of PvPers have already quit the game and don't care about it anymore, but they would agree that it needed some rebalancing and devs seem to be only listening to the people who would like to see criminal acts removed from the game completely(like vernie) , so I don't think it is the case.

autohearth is retarded. autoaggro is retarded. 5sec hearthing is retarded. you guys just need to deal with it :D

Should maybe just make it so that if you have scents, you need longer to hearth home and problem solved. If someone who did not commit crime goes home, its one thing, but if you can't catch a thief even outside (we already know that bwalls are safe place to be), then its no point in having pvp anyway.

I'd say that good example of the current PvP is that there is almost none posts on the forums of the kills, fights etc, while in previous world there were tons, even when the game was "ending". There was always someone traveling around being bored, chasing whoever he found. Even if there was no kill, there was still a chase and some adrenaline I guess and now I don't even see that anymore.

Well pvp is the end game really. Even carebears are really just supporting pvpers.

Unfortunately pvpers find equal satisfaction whether fighting another pvper or murdering noobs.

That seems to be where the problem begins because murdered noobs often quit never to return and the server rolls along with a pop of ~200 and an empty map.

Are the people complaining about auto hearth doing so because they want to be able to kill anyone or is it about chasing down an enemy?
Laying flat.
