No, when you run out of stamina... you get asphyxiation debuff as you do a little bit of a drown. But i suppose doing a full on drown does kill.

Suppose its the same as being a bit burried by rocks falling on your head... rarther than a full on burried alive.

You know speaking as someone who had 55 concussion a little while ago i don't dislike this idea. It's not a bad thing it teaches you to fear the wild not leisurely kill everything in it. Also you complain about cold compress being expensive when its really cheap. The only thing i have difficulty finding is snow and that's just cause i have no terrains around me.

When you swim and run out of stamina, you will start to take ~ 10 HHP away from you while you swim. If you live, you will notice you have the asphyxiation wound which lowers INT quite significantly.

Little bit of a drown is when you are drowning... as in the process of, but are not quite drowned... as in dead.

In legacy, you ran out of stam while swimming... you are dead. Do not pass go, do not collect £200. (which i have a feeling you knew)

When you run out of stamina while swimming you continue to swim, but take about 16 HHP (in my experience, maybe it's 10% of your max?) in damage every second you remain in the water. This HHP damage is Asphyxiation which heals quickly (2 pts per hour) and lowers int while it is active.

So drowning will still quickly kill you but it's no longer instant like it was.
