I wouldn't say those roots heal every wound instantly, they only heal the same amount of hhp as their quality. Also the ageless ice is like a two week+ spawn which you get one at a time out of and no one even had troll skulls until recently.
Plus they cannot be stored up; they decay, possibly in as little as 48 hours (as I've heard once, not sure if true).

He came and visited my hermit village, he was waiting by the front gate to be let in. I think he was concerned about the amount of devastation I'd done to the environment trying to terraform my cliff, lol, he came inside and walked around, took a look at my then newly built stonestead and then waited at the back gate to be let out again. He didn't speak though, but maybe that was because he came as a fox.
