Can't forget Constantinople, DiS, and AD (I know they're still around, but I'm referring to when they had their own villages and hadn't disbanded.)

Also Bottleneck, not sure when they disbanded though.

Dis is definitely around; the original AD is gone and you only have a faction that has only its name. Bottleneck is still around.

Some memories.

I started in late w6, complete noob but befriended a Dutch guy I had fun playing with a while. Fell out of touch though.

In w7 I misinterpreted wiki and told some Finnish people I started in world 5. They had me around but eventually joined some "pro" village leaving me with their decent camp. Then some random Finn spawned into myriad of hearthfires left by HS spam. My first mistake was to open gate when he walked next to it and said "knock knock" I thought I was smart and only gave him trespassing rights. Then he invited me to party, I accepted, some time later he said "thanks for sword and the pearls." I walked inside my house to see EVERY cupboard bashed. I had no idea partying gave people full access to claim and there was no in-game indication. I got some mad that I came to forums and complained I'm going to quit the game and demand devs add warning to party invitation. However I didn't quit but later I made mistake of building huge unclaimed pali and thought I could leave my main compound gate open for Finnish guy I recruited. Ended up having all valuable stuff stolen, even built large Chest for tools that disappeared the next night or so.

At one point I joined a group of newbies led by total noob who kept butchering bears with q10 stone axe 1 survival and kept getting killed. Somehow we were recruited into developed faction's side village and I was really happy to mine for them. But then something happened, I'm still not 100% sure but the noob leader either pissed the faction of by dying for the nth time or if she was infiltrator all along.

At one point I got reacquinted with the Finns I played at the start of world and got together having learned so much I even pointed out things they didn't know to them. I befriended one member in particular and I still play with him.

There were couple of villages but they were eventually both raided when we got bored and went inactive. I never really did PvP in w7 except killed some alts Russians used to taunt me after they stole all my tamed animals (w7 taming was maybe kind of easy-i-er but since you couldn't leash the wild animals you had to wait until they spawn nearby to feasibly tame them.) I also knocked out some Polish that refused to loan me their boat. I felt bad enough to leave them some carrots. Later when I checked their place, their HFs and carrots were gone. Actually, somehow I was never killed by a player in w7. However my first "developed" character death was so stupid as I lured bear with it instead of half a dozen fresh-spawn alts I had.
