Caffeine has been defined as a naturally occurring drug just like THC. Cocoa is also another source of caffeine. I think there's a pretty accurate list of plants that produce caffeine around somewhere.... a quick google search isn't picking it up, but found some interesting fact sheets.

Most sodas contain caffeine, either naturally (contain kola beans or brewed from kola beans) or added (Mt. Dew, Barq's, etc.) In order of caffeine levels, highest is Mt. Dew (54mg per 12oz/355 mL can), then Dr. Pepper, Coke, Pepsi, and on down the line till you get some like 7 Up with no added caffeine.

Doritos, on the other hand... nasty things. We should all stop eating them... just can't. Taste so good... mmm, cool ranch. /drool

Doritos and other high-salt products are the natural (or not so natural) killers of our civilization. Should they be arrested?

Cacao does contain some caffeine, but it's is mostly theobromine source, drug similar to caffeine, yet with different properties
Cup of hot cacao always lifts your mood abit ;)

Interesting topic

It would be nice people share how drugs affects their performance in Haven game, for example in w7 I barely could do any activity without drinking some booze.
Heavy smokers? Amphetamine/ritalin users? Some suboxone pill poppers? Benzo abusers, etc? All those substances should shift your behavior in tedious village tasks and pvp to some degree.

From what I've seen of ancient food preservation techniques, we use far less sodium in our diets than even just a couple hundred years ago. Unless you lived on a farm or in a farming village, all your meat and fish was salted... heavily.

A sprinkling of freshly ground nutmeg can add to the effect.

Dexies make you better a every computer game, and studying, and work. Shame they wreck you. Faces of meth. Amphetamine derivatives are probably the most harmful of the nootropics though. Generally speaking if you notice your dose having an effect, you've had too much. Look into nootropics if you're interested in performance enhancement of the mind. There are much less harmful things out there which can give a helpful boost.

Pharmacology is interesting to me because you can do some pretty interesting things with your own brain. Weed breaks down neural connections for example (although I'm unsure which substance specifically). Psilocybin on the other hand stimulates neural growth and building connections which may not otherwise have been possible. Fascinating topics really if you go deep enough into it, micro-dosing is an interesting topic. My parting words however...

Don't mess with drugs till you're in your thirties kids. Chances are you're doing enough damage without them.

Though i think canabis is heavily demonized in the western world i think it´s effect must not be underestimated:

Canabis can induce schizophrenia - coffee will not.
Canabis will lower your performance in traffic - coffe will not, but the contrary.

Rates of schizophrenia have remained stable across time periods when cannabis was used by a large portion of the population. There is yet to be a single scientific paper published with definitive proof that cannabis causes schizophrenia.

The driving thing though I will leave alone, it's very possible it has an effect on reaction time although a stoned driver will never be as much of a haphazard as a drunk one. Strangely in the US they let drunk drivers on the roads as long as they aren't "too drunk" and have some pretty bizarre tests for determining such a state. All of which I'm sure a stoned person would be capable of passing easily (except maybe the backwards alphabet one). I don't condone driving on any substance tbh.
