Dani, Based on your data gathered, can you give a percentage number of paid subscriptions and sub token purchases? Please and thank you.

Sure, yes!
I'll also upload the OP with the Info :)

SUBSCRIPTIONS
Never bought one: 47.5%
One time: 7.2%
A Few times: 28.2%
Many times: 17.1%

SUB TOKENS
Never bought one: 92%
One time: 5%
A Few times: 1.8%
Many times: 1.2%

Based on your question, I suppose you could consider "few times" (subs) as people that pay subscription during the periods they are more active in and "Many times" as people that try to always be subbed, which means that the game has around 20%~ of faithful subs; around 30-40% of occasional subs.

Although I'd guess this number is lower after you consider the big portion of the community that doesn't use this forum/has not responded to the census/etc... :) So, my personal guess would be around 10-15% (at most) recurring subs.

Thanks Dani, The Number of paid subscriptions is actually higher than I expected, according to this it seems pretty evenly split. I was expecting less than 35% of active player base as being subscribers.

Speaking from experience (wink) some of those sub tokens are also purchased by paid accounts for use in trading.

I think these results are rather hard to interpret, a person who bought a subscription one time might have bought it for the entire year which is why they don't fall under "Many times" instead even though they are technically long term subscribers. Same goes for someone buying a subscription a few times as they might be purchasing 90 or 180 days.

Yes, this is true. Only a deeper survey into the store stuff (or open numbers from Jorb/Loftar, which is unlikely and not necessary either, anyway) could be clearer. That's why I'm saying it's a personal guess and all approximate numbers :) Besides, it applies to that population of 156 people who answered the survey and there's no way to tell how much of it is valid without proper server numbers and all that. All in all, however, it allows us to estimate at least a little less blindly :D

Yeah, it's like:

2 from Romania, 2 from Turkey, 2 from Croatia...
1 from Estonia, 1 from Italy, 1 from Hungary, and so on... :P

I just classified it as "groups", like... You can read as:

"Countries with 3 people from each: Mexico, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom
Countries with 2 people from each: Romania, Turkey, Croatia, Bosnia, Netherlands and Finland"

and so on :D

Anyone who says that current system is p2w is bad or just thinks every payment system is p2w. Seriously, stop.

As much as I don't like (maybe even hate) the direction this game is taking, the payment system is perfect in my opinion. First of all, prices are fair for the "advantages" you get - it's not expensive but you also get little out of it in terms of your "power" in game. The thing is, although you don't get much, it's just a good deal. Speeding up things for subs was a perfect idea (enough for me to rebuy the sub monthly at least, just makes the game much more enjoyable - c'mon, how is it p2w?) and LP bonus is minor (sure it adds up, but it's nothing gamebreaking). Second of all, as I said, advantages are minor at best and if you compare them to any other mmo payment methods, not p2w at all.
Besides, in other games not being subbed usually limits you in some way - while Haven still lets you do everything even as a free player.

Other things like hats and such are also cool (hats system could be better though, feel like we more of them), especially sketches. Just so fun and, kinda, makes your stuff feel unique. Worth your money if you like the game.

About the survey - I'd really like if Loftar and Jorb actually listened to community's ideas (as in whole community - not the bunch of attention whores also known as Inner Party) and discussions. As of right now, it seems like they just do everything on their own (they also have no idea how their own game works, how players play it, want to play it and what players expect from it - which, I think, is a huge problem), rarely care about any players feedback (even about bad updates - people hated gilding really much, so let's add more gilding!!!) and want to go really creative on everything making it worse. Combat and Politics need improvement but for fucks sake, maybe listen to what players have to say about these systems first before making it even worse.

I'll just leave this here.
Amanda44 wrote:So, rather than just remove gilding which the majority of players hate, just make more of it and make it complicated ... lol, how to make awesome games and then slowly ruin them with each passing month. :P

Jorb's response was amazing, too:
jorb wrote:I'm trying to advance the game, and make it better.

I want an equipment system that does not force players into wearing too much of a particular look in order to accomplish certain goals.

I, for example, didn't like how everyone in Legacy -- and here as well -- above scrub-tier, always wore more or less the exact same outfit.

Even though it has flaws -- RNG admittedly being one of them -- this system accomplishes that, and also introduces some distinction and depth to the various pieces of gear. It allows for the creation of rare pieces of equipment which are not unconditionally available to anyone.

Under the old system, there was no point in adding more shirts, pants, &c to the game, because no one worth his salt would ever wear them, as they could not compete with anything that gave a stat bonus, i.e. ranger's pants. This is no longer the case.

If you want to take a completely reactionary view, and argue that we should never try anything new, anything controversial, anything that we don't get 100% right straight away, or generally anything that doesn't get the immediate blessings of the vox populi, well, that's cute and all, but it is also a sure-fire way to never-ever in a million years accomplish anything new with the game, and that is not a type of "development" I'm interested in, and nor is the game in a meaningful enough state to merit the sort of feature freeze you are, whether you realize it or not, asking for.

If you sincerely labour under some delusion that there was some magical time in the past when Haven was great in some spectacular way, and that we since have been ruining it, well, I can't help you except by pointing out how unconditionally wrong you are.

We have recently(ish) added mammoths, knarrs, trolls, and domesticated horses. There is simply no point in the past where the game, on the whole, has been better than it is now.

I suggest you adopt a more constructive attitude. I want diversity in equipment, looks, and gear. You give me better ideas on how to accomplish that if you don't like the ones I have, but these sour-grapes you can frankly leave at home, because I'm not buying.

Basically said "fuck off, I don't like how everyone looks the same (because I totally play the game!), and don't care what players say lol - this game is better, it has mammoths... shut up" to all the complaining and criticizing players, who also made good points. Nice feedback, devs!

It's better to just listen to players now until you're back to 30 playerbase (Salem?) again. This system sucks, many more will probably suck, and you will just keep it because "you want something new (which also makes the game even more grindy)". :D

thanks for posting the results.. was a good read

i do have one request though.. could you separate the passive/aggressive scale based on age groups?
would be interesting to see if there's a trend to becoming peaceful as you get older.. i suppose the youngins have little to no care for others while the older people have had more life experience to develop empathy

but overall.. great job
