if you dont need a lot of precision to the final target, you dont bother and do a normal step until last one : 100 -> 50
if you are unsure, or whant a presise targeting, 75 -> 75 is the best bet
150% is never the solution, the only case I can thing of is when you are very hurry to reach your goal, and even in that case, 125-125 is the most current pratice, cause the 150 need more muscular work, and more brain work to target the final spot, and its all about lazyness.
