The game is litterally in Java man. The devs created a client with English Interface. Someone made Amber's client with Russian interface. But you shouldn't count H&H as "made for English-speakers"
English is neither my native lang, nor my best side...

I think games are made in english because it's the most common second language not because games are made specifically for english speakers.

Learning new language is not very easy for everyone, also there is no reasons to learn english in most cases just for one game... Maybe you could try learning to speak Russian or Finnish enough for you to understand others and others to understand you if you think its so easy? Also, if you natively speak something like Russian, which uses cyrillic alphabets, there is probably even one extra level of difficulty.

Many bigger games have localization. Many russians/chinese people dont play the game except if its in their language.

I think this value depends on type of the game. For AAA projects it can easily be 30-50% i believe

I think we have talk about what this Jesus is saying about problem. We can move on to this one maybe?
Jesus_Smith_Nandez wrote:So why is this happening? The game is in English, is it not? Why are we becoming a minority in a game made for us? What makes this game appeal to foreigners so much to push it all the way to this point?

I think two main reason. Game does not have much text for reading (e.g. like quest in other game you must read to know what to do). There are few ability to read and they do not change much as well. I think game in general is not impossible for playing even if you are not speaking this English compared to other game. Other reason is this is very niche game. If there are few alternate games to play in this style of this one, people are going to greater length to play it despite this language barrier.

In general I think English speaking country tends to be good combination of large and rich for selling product to. In the case of this game specific, I think that if jorb/loftar can speak Swedish and English only, obvious English will be better language for choosing for many player to play.

Sure, the answer is pretty obvious
Jesus_Smith_Nandez wrote:Why are we becoming a minority in a game made for us?

Because most of the english-speaking players are casual. If anyone raid and kill them, they just leave

Are you sure it isn't because typically English speaking players live in a place where a computer that can run a AAA game is more easily obtainable than a foreign person living in a third world country with a computer that can only run say, indie java games. Plus it's free. Not trying to be rude by saying that but it is kind of true.

Is Russia really a third world country though? I haven't been to much of eastern Europe, only Poland and the Czech Republic. Those places seemed pleasant enough but I keep getting told it's like second or third world.

I'll have to go see more of it sometime I guess.

Edit: Actually what I saw in those two countries wasn't as bad as what I saw in parts of the USA tbh. Maybe I didn't get around enough idk.
