Moot at the moment has nothing, and over the time in this world has had nothing other than threads with inane babbling and memes.

Furthermore, the whole forum has become just that, babbling and memes.

Now the random noob killing and raiding is not happening on the level as it was happening back then and you still somehow manage to say how it apperantly is happening on higher levels than it was before? smh.

Sure that's true there were a lot more new players back then so obviously there will be more threads of them complaining or about them getting killed but there are a lot of somewhat developed hermits I would still consider to be newby players. You need to differentiate between a new player and a peaceful hermit or even just a peaceful village because the difference is quite marginal. Peaceful village/hermit dudes that likely had no intention of ever becoming an enemy or even a real threat ends up feeling the wrath because players are bored (ie. that thread that's in Hel now).

Here's a quote from that thread I linked earlier:

And that's kind of my take on it, I enjoy the fact this game allows for all of that and more but if you think you're just going to be treated like every other player after the fact of those things occurring you are sorely mistaken.

What we need are raiders and villainous factions that are proud of being evil. What would make this game interesting would be a group or two that constantly attack and raid other players, it would give them a purpose above just quality grinding. Instead we have a heap of hermits and villages that never interact, a few large factions that sit around beating up animals and a war that seems to fought by staring at each other from across the map. And of course the great noob-slayers that travel in packs.

You can't tell me that no one out there has thought about being the bad guy in a game like this. And by that, I mean attacking villages and factions, not just hermits.

All being an asshole does is make people ragequit and make the playerbase even smaller. What I mean is that we need a faction or whatever that everyone just loves to hate.

I've thought about it and the one thing that H&H doesn't have that other games have is a clear goal. I mean, the whole point of the game is that you can do whatever you want but that's the problem. Most people start doing what they want, be it farming, hunting, mining or whatever, then realise "Hey what am I even doing this for" then leave. The point of this game is that the players dictate the goals and the way that the whole world works. This means that if the game is to have any structure or story, it will be up to the players to design and set it up.

So far things are actually going pretty well; we have kingdoms and factions, as well as rivalries and a places like the sevilla markets. Everything that we need for a decent story, the problem is that the story never develops. I think that the reason why is because we have no antagonists. Basically someone that we can show to all the noobs and say "Play for long enough and we can take that guy out and we can be legendary heroes and stuff."

Ok you have point, also I was only ranting earlier because I was having a mental breakdown.

It just seems like nothing ever happens in this game, but I guess that's just because of the whole end game problem.

The world needs a balance of power, which seems to be gone after 1-2 months into a world. If there is a huge disbalance - a single group is dominating and if the dominating group decides to raid or kill someone, there is going to be no justice brought or there is going to be noone who can stop the dominating group from doing what they have been doing. If there's a balance of power in the world, the groups will be much more careful about leaving scents and think twice before killing anyone or leaving scents since they will be tracked down by the opposing groups most likely and they will be busy dealing with the opposing factions instead of raiding some randoms. I would say the game needs more ranging options, for example, a ability to check if the pertrepator is online, it will ease the process of tracking greatly and be able to see scents from a greater distance. You can observe the disbalance of power basically every world, that's where the world becomes stall. I would like to see the balance to have more duration, but, sadly, it gets ruined when the first people start quitting in a faction, it usually goes in a chain reaction until there's only a few left that can't oppose the rival faction that most members has not quit yet and the rival faction becomes dominant. The game needs more players, for the game to function properly and fix most of the problems.
