from a British standpoint, the US elections makes us thankful for our existing government.

Belgium was better ruled when it didn't have a government some 6 years ago.

I think the most worrisome thought about this year's US election is that there's no reason to think things won't get worse after it's over.

Well, the Brits aren't completely safe from US style media... You guys had Brexit earlier this year :?

that's true, though that's still debateable since parliament now need to vote on whether it can be envoked anyway, but really no politician here with any relevance, could possibly say the or be involved in the same kind of bullshit seen especially by Trump. If Trump become president though, could you keep Farage with him...please?? :P

but you are right, the media is pretty inaccurate, very emotive and relatively unchangeable.

If Trump makes it cheaper to produce in America like he says he will, it means prices where I live will be cheaper so that's a + for me. The problem is I don't know if he actually will, or even if he tries if 4-8 years will be a long enough time to change the economy so drastically.

I could not be more against Socialism or Communism, but your argument is a common one and a weak one.

I am sure it is weak to compel those who want it to my side. I do not interest in compelling them. Politic is hard because there is no clear objective best strategy. If any man tries hard enough to belief in his position, you will not sway him. I do not bother with this.

Read a book or several on the subject to broaden your arsenal when arguing against people. If your only standpoint is an incredibly common one you've either come up with yourself (and you're not educated in that field) or read on the internet (from people who are not educated in that field), then it will probably be easily debunked by anyone worth their salt on the opposite side of the topic. This is the case with the argument you presented.

TBH, this has been the case since the start. All things must eventually die. Sure, it might have taken some longer than others, but they're all still history. And I might point out that some of them had quite a few ups and downs along the way.

Ok, how do you even do this without cutting the average wage of the laborer? Add in the fact he keeps talking tariffs on imports that's also going to drive cost of goods up, because, lets face it, very little can be produced in just one country anymore. Something has to get imported from somewhere. Trump is talking out his ass and everyone that has an economics education can prove it.

The government doesn't have to do anything, all it has to do is let the free market do it's thing. Trump seems to understand this better than anyone, while Hillary/Sanders do not. As soon as anyone talks about not taxing the rich, people spew the "trickle-down economics" strawman and propose even more tax hikes. Here's a good paper on the subject. If I tried to explain it in full I would simply be regurgitating a lot of thing written there, except not as well since I don't understand the subject as well as the author.
I think you're right in saying he won't drive the price of goods down, but I think Hillary would be worse, especially long-term.

I think that is the plan of the man. He has said so himself. Going to work with Trump if he wins.
