No you dont know what you are talking about. This is not a single player game it is a "see another player with a sword and die in 10 secs" game.

Either you have led a sheltered life inside the walls of your village or you are one of the assholes that keeps killing my foragers.

MMO does not mean you have to interact with others. It merely means the world allows it.

MMO games, specially sandbox games are designed to have players interactions...that is their goal and the best way to have the game working properly.....when this doesn't happen it means something is broken, and many issues appears, alting, botting,etc...this game will only benefit with more intercations, like fighting the evil, cooperating, trading,etc... in that we need to aim to improve this game.

That people can hermit easily and even choose to do so is a sign that the game's mechanics aren't aligned with its goals then. Maybe if "interaction" didn't more often than not mean "murder" people would be less willing to isolate themselves from the world.

I agree, but also on two fronts.

More interactions would benefit the game as a whole, but the benefits and systems need to fairly support these interactions.

On the other hand, shouldn't players have a right to live off the grid and far away from the grasp of demanding and terrorizing kingdoms?

The current mechanics need some improvements, such as a as Player - Realm deal, where if you accept to be a part of the realm and have your EXP be taxed, you receive realm benefits, and if you refuse you do not receive realm benefits. Currently its forced and is unfair. Other realms receive benefits, such as State Funerals from your EXP gains, which can be used to bully an individual more and more. Players should not be forced to contribute to their own demise.

I was more open and talked more in the first 3 days of the game. No one could kill me, now I see an unkown and I run away crying and screaming.

A smaller world raises the risk that every new encounter will lead to death, but in a more open world it reduces the chance.

Being brave before people have murder is not that impressive. ;)

I think that interactions will improve if people have the chance to move away from hostile neighbours.

Tbh I never bothered with realm and that stuff, so I'm not an expert about that....but what I can say is we need more incentives to live togethere, like maps features with ideal spot to settle, etc... or more disincentives to live alone, of course still possible, but not ideal......this will lead to build "towns" like happened in real life, where people start to settle all around optimal positions,etc...and in the mean while will leave many deserted areas, optimal for hermits or who want to live alone, even if harder.
To me Realm right now are working exactly at the opposite of this, forcing people even more far from each other...so I'm not sure at all about this feature....

P.S. A dumb example about how this could be done for real, let's say it could be some certain resource with some magic in it.....let's say a big tree, so if you set near this big tree you have some buff (here we need to think well how make this thing working), but you could benefit of this buff only if you build some construction that allow that, but once you build that construction it will expand the radius of the big tree in that direction, so other people can build near by, etc...etc....here we have towns.

Real life didn't have bots (they had slaves/serfs (bad joke is bad).
