All the fans you're going to find in any computer are brushless fans, which means they can't automatically work as generators, and the drivers in the fan itself won't be damaged by whatever the coils do when driven.

And even if they weren't, you'd have to be using an industrial compressor to get a brushed motor to generate voltages high enough to be hazardous, and probably break the bearings in the process.

perhaps.

But ive once tried this and i could most definitly measure a current comming from the fan.
didnt check if that was a brushless fan or not i must admit.

i used regular canned air.
and i dont remember the amount of current tbh. but it wasnt much. im just not going to try to roast my motherboard at all tbh :P

I am curious how you drew that conclusion, and what kind of fan it was. If it was a computer fan, it is highly unlikely that it would have been a brushed motor.

you could fry yer motherboard.

This is dumb advice.
Each time I vacuum my computer I vacuum fans one by one and they start spinning very fast. I do this to each fan each time I clean the computer and haven't had any issues. I have not heard of this weird advice before either.

Also dont blow.
Suck.

I wouldn't advise blowing with your mouth, breath can have a lot of moisture. Get a hair drier and set it on cold and lowest power.

A lot of older/cheap two-wire fans don't have protection diode. Most of these just have a diode inside the hall effect latch to protect it from connecting the power supply in reverse to the chip. So generally speaking a computer fan can generate voltage.

I checked out disassembly of my laptop model and it really takes a lot of effort and disassembly to reach the parts I want to reach, and since I want it completely cleaned and thermal paste changed I've decided to just pay 30-ish euro for someone else to do it. Expected it to be more expensive tbh.
