Played 2 legacy worlds and always a hermit so not too much memories. But I do agree with NOOBY here. There will never be an equal feeling of discovery last the first time I played and I knew nothing about the game.
I do have some hermit stories tho - in one world (5 I guess) me and a Canadian guy were practically slaves to some big ass faction village in exchange of metal tools. Since we did not know how to mine, for a whole week we agreed to dig clay for a big village in order so they build brick walls. We practically dug clay all the playtime we got and in the end we got a meatgrinder, some tools, a frying pan, etc. Man, at the end I was so happy with my q16 meatgrinder that it felt almost like a payday IRL.
In last legacy world (or the one before that) I started fresh and somehow ended up with some russians that did not speak english at all. We were talking via google translate and dialogue was a chore itself. I became a master of glitching the animals and getting them stuck in a fence-gate and taming them. At one point all I did was taming animals. Russians were amazed that me (a noob) would bring them tamed animals so early in the world. I got much appreciation among them and I was feeling so proud, until one day, I somehow fucked up to properly trap a flock of sheeps and while initiating taming they all got out and hit me once. I just sat there looking at my char getting KO and then killed. I remember that all I did later was putting a stone with the message - "Here lies Sollar that died out of sheer stupidity" and completly left the game.
I would be so glad if one of the russians can read this and remember. I have no idea who I played with.
I had no idea about the combat system in legacy so I have no say in that, but for all the new Haven I played with people, mastered the game and now I'm stuck to it. I'd say this world is so far the best but far from perfect. As for the combat system, I have 2 things that bother me:
1. I'd love to have a way to switch combat decks in combat - maybe in a small timeframe at the start of the fight, even if with a very long cooldown or some penalties. Now if you get jumped with the wrong deck it's pretty much game over and I'd say it's an undeserved way to die.
2. Ultra combat stats should matter less. Now it seems that even the slightest advantage in combat stats is decisive (at least in a 1v1 duel). I spared vs more experienced people and made stupid mistakes like bad timing a cleave like 3 times in a match, yet I could still come up on top only because of having higher stats. I know PVP resolves pretty much to ganking, but I think skill should be above stats. I don't know where the sweet-spot should be in order not to make combat alts too powerfull yet making titans beatable. I like this game so much but my time that I can play is very limited so there is no way for me to grind the stats on par with people that seem to play it 24/7. I am eager to learn everything and practice with people or by my own, yet it bothers me that even if I get to master everything would do me no good in a situation where I'd be put vs a player that has better stats only because he invested more time in the game. Factor in the permadeath aspect into the equation and the conclusion is I'd have to avoid PvP until my stats are capped. With current cap chances are I'll quit the game long before that (did it previous worlds). This would help the abrupt playerbase drop too, since I know some people that love to play at world start where stats are somehow evenly divided among players, yet always quit the game after the initial phase, when people baricade behind walls and start grinding stats like there is no tommorow.
TL:DR
