I think it was best said by someone else in this thread. Haven and Hearth didn't change my life, HnH was the game I was waiting my whole life for. It's an incredible experience that's raw and unforgiving, and yet provides some of the most heartwarming (and heartbreaking) experiences of any game I've ever played. The hours you pour into every little aspect makes everything mean more, and while there are things I'd certainly change if I could (I loathe fast travel of all kinds (roads and hearthing) and really wish there was a limited but sane range you could hearth home from.) overall there simply isn't anything out there that even comes close.
The community, from the greenest noob to the biggest asshole player, and of course the devs, are all amazing people who I'm happy to call friends, enemies, and acquaintances. I proselytize this game to everyone I've talked about games too (A significant portion). I realize that from now until I perish I'll always be a hearthling at heart, and I'll keep coming back here.
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.
