I fully look forward to jorb and loftar fixing several mechanics and bringing back updates, because at that time you chuckleheads are going to be more marginalized than lawn furniture in winter.

Ah well. It is still something nice to discover. Makes use of all the boulders in my area without me having to break my char's back in digging.

I have discovered wild onions, string grass, and wild gourds. The onions and grass I have planted, but the gourds don't seem to be farmable. Am I missing something?

They require trellis.

You can use dugouts on swamps for a long time now.
