It's on my Wishlist, but don't have the $40. My computer needs a RAM upgrade and video card first before more games. (Needs a CPU, too, but afraid that's going to require a mobo to get much faster.)
MagicManICT wrote:For a MOBA? Can't really recommend one that would be accepted as having the same "depth" and "strategy" as LoL. But when that depth and strategy is basically ways to monetize the game (runes), and the core gameplay is otherwise just a poor clone of the WC3 DOTA mod... I know people around here have played Heroes of the Storm and haven't generally liked it because of the absent minutia, but overall I think it is a better game. One person can't carry the whole team. You don't have to micromanage every aspect of the game. At high levels of competition, there is a large variety in character builds and nuance. There's as much choice in picks and counterpicks when it comes to drafting as either of the two bigger MOBAs.
Blizzard still hasn't fixed the reconnect problem. If you disconnect from a match, even for a few seconds, you have to play catch-up to the server time, so you end up missing minutes of the match. If you really do have a serious disconnect and have to restart the game, it could take a quarter or even half the match to sync up.
I wish I could mention any of the other MOBAs, but they just can't hold a candle to these 3, and even HOTS doesn't get the player numbers LOL or DOTA2 gets. At least they are running a couple of major tourneys each year with millions in payout (Heroes of the dorm--250k to first place team in scholorships, and a pro tournament circuit with top prizes being tens of thousands to each player on the team for first place.)
One of the major changes in HOTS in the last year or so has been an update to the ranking structure to be similar to LoL and SC2--bronze through diamond with a master/grandmaster ladder you have to keep playing to stay in.
