nice base. i just recently settled into this new one of my mine because it originally belonged to someone else and the gate was bashed. So i went in and rebuilt the gate ¦] . The original owners have been offline for awhile so i did what any decent human being would do. I destroyed all their claims, replaced them with my own, and hid the master key and all slave keys in a different pally so that they can never get out . my original plan was to wait for them to get back on and then they would be trapped cause all there hearthfires are in there. Then i would force them to do slave labor for me in exchange for their freedom       . But now......... This base will never be able to be my P.O.W. camp. So much potential so much evil wasted because of a wipe. I will miss you evil plan ;(.

yeah its funny how the small things are what you get attached to. It's just like the wicker basket i made at the start of the world. I still have it.I love that thing its been with me everywhere. It was with me on the great journey away from start point. It was with me at all my bases but one and after i left that base i went back. Also am i the only one who rarely builds a base and just browses for abandoned ones until he finds one he likes and then stays there till he finds a bigger one?

Hermitage #1 ("Hebel")
Late August 2015 - October 2015

Image

(Yes, those are 5 palisades. Early w8 palisades were crazy cheap, so I didn't have to worry about everything lining up properly.)

Surprisingly enough, there was no trace of damage whatsoever when I returned to prepare for the end of the world, meaning it remained untouched for several months. Perhaps punishment for crime has indeed become too severe?

Hermitage #2 ("Mihama Gakuen")
January 2016 - February 2016

This one was actually mostly not built by me. I just settled in an abandoned place; something I do more often, but in this case I barely had to build anything (the two houses, smelter, oven, crucible and chicken coop were already there when I moved in, and there were a bunch of crops on the field as well).

Here's my little garden plot inside Bloodscar. My larger grove is off behind my tower and the larger farm fields (which have long since been left fallow) are beyond that. The forest biome inside STILL HASN'T FINISHED SPREADING. Despite it being over a month and a half, and probably won't be finished by the time the world resets. I need to replace a few more of the stunted trees, but I don't think I'll bother since they'll barely finish growing before the wipe.

I really like this, it looks cozy. If I end up hermiting, I think it'd look similar to this.

It's pretty ugly, but this is my hermitage. The bottom area was already terraformed when I found it, and also that god awful house. I kinda wish I could've done more with it, but for a month and a half it's not all that bad. The area up top was supposed to be my silk workshop, and I was going to wall off the left area and move my crops there.

Oh yeah, thanks to my neighbours for the dead horse when I first settled here. It was a great house-warming present :p

Some great bases here... Love this idea - yes, we all will miss the fruits of our work and dedication!
I can't even find words to describe how much I will miss New Thotoshire.

Our little place, our dream place. A safe, happy haven on this dreadful land.
The work of three people... We shall never forget how much we cared and tended to our land, how much of our hearts we put into it :)
We endured threats, escaped strangers-dangers and even survived a raid :P
There's a lot of beauty in this game, and for that we shall be always thankful!

Some general views:

And now, some of our history!

The Early Days - before New Thotoshire

The Founding Fathers
"I, Wulfkin, swear to all the Gods to protect these lands until my life is forfeit!
I, Aciddemon, and I, Thaliii, swear to uphold our oaths to the land until the dawn of Valhalla!
We are the Founding Fathers of New Thotoshire. May it endure the hammer of time!"

Thaliii couldn't use her character to help with the founding so she was playing my alt, Wulfbrother, at the time.
