You laugh at me because I am different. I laugh at you because you are all the same.

I can see how it could be annoying to older players to see repeated questions and problems being brought up that have already been addressed in previous threads or located on a wiki easily accessible to any player. I'm still 'new' compared to most players here, but I learned really quick much of everything I needed to know and do simply by browsing the forums using word in search related to what I needed to know (such as farming, palisade, hunting, etc). I also read seven's guide up and down before I actually worked on anything, and referenced the wiki. Yes the wiki is known to be outdated in parts but I still find lots of the information still relevant to current version, and anything that I'm unsure about I search the forum and if it wasn't brought up already (or the question / answer seemed vague) I made my own post in regards to it.

Today I finished it's construction and I went to get out, but my key wasn't there anymore. All three gates are locked and I can't break them. I'm stuck inside like an idiot, without a mean of getting resources.

Considering how brutal this game can be to those who aren't cautious and take necessary steps to protect themselves, I think that you should have kept the key somewhere safer that no one would be able to swipe easily while you were away. Sorry that it happened, but this sort of thing I came to expect real quick when I started playing in the middle of this last December even though the game was just about dead. It saved me from getting killed when raiders targeted my little settlement with my friends (though one of my friends, and the one who invited me to this game that played before me, ignored my warning and logged in and got himself killed xD).

If your character isn't too developed yet and no one offered to help (sorry didn't read -all- the posts on this thread) could always consider the option of declaiming the area you are in and then killing yourself through exhaution/starvation and just make a new character to inherit some LP and stats from your character and start off somewhere else in the world.

Can confirm. We get all the League rejects.

Well, presuming you're still around (which I doubt, seeing's you haven't replied lately), might I suggest at least keeping your master key in your personal inventory at all times? That's what I do.

Let this be a lesson: nothing is safe in this world. The best protection you can get is to either place it on yourself, or on an alt if you're ambitious.

Don't worry, though. It's only a game. You can start again. Everyone does. Isn't that right, battle-scarred, alt-using veterans?

Then if you die or get knocked out by another player, you don't have a base. Hmm.

That is one of the weaknesses of it. OTOH, at least you aren't trapped inside of your own base like this guy. I mean, seriously. How the hell does that happen??

Besides, way I figure, if you can knock me out or kill me, you've earned my base. No one's done it to me yet, except a boar in Legacy.

There is the beginning of world 3 where griefers were walling in other people's gate with their own walls. Many of them were not aware you are suppose to seal your cornerposts and people were ridiculing them for that. Then comes in griefers walling their gates anyways with two palisade cornerposts and people ridiculing them for not claiming outside their home. Then comes in griefers getting vandalism and doing it anyways.
