siege mechanics are completely whole another discussion , siege mechanics are not combat mechanics
pls dont turn this into another siege topic....

It's hard to just go and change combat especially when the majority of people complaining about it are the same dudes that just wander around in groups killing anyone they come across with no reason to give a shit about the political factors, you only started complaining when you started dying but coming across some lone hermits and wrecking them with ease and what is most likely 0% risk to yourself is a perfectly normal aspect of the game to you.

Different perspectives, bro.

my new character is already better than my old, I have been attempting this argument for a long time now that damage is too excessive.

If you're going to insist on keeping this deck system, then I'd at least like to see it be changed to not confine people to a mere 5 cards (nobody is going to risk adding random elements to their fight when PvP'ing in a perma death game, which is precisely why everybody is running around with 5 card decks). What is happening right now is what someone a few pages back said, you have everybody running Take Aim + an attack, and then usually the other 3 are spend on either 2 defenses + 1 more attack or just 3 defenses. There's not really any room for any surprise, and as such the combat feels shallow because everybody is limited to these 5 moves, most of which are the same shit that everybody is using (shield up, parry, take aim, chop/sting, etc etc).
Up the deck limit to like 8 or 10 without bringing any randomness into the mix, and you'll see people running more varied movesets. Obviously that alone won't fix everything completely, but it'll certainly be a start.
Again, this is providing you do want to keep the deck system.

Can we get some other moves that compete with Take Aim too, to make it not absolutely mandatory to use? More moves like Steal Thunder would also be very nice, and perhaps even some Debuffing moves that deal very little/no damage, but cripple the opponents movespeed/stats for a short time and what not.

You just ranted about how groups go around killing noobs when that's part of this game
This combat is fucked and has nothing to do with the bullshit seige thing
I could list more things this game fucked up that was perfectly fine in legacy but this thread is about how combat is so fucked that if someone has a decent amount of mc and understands how to press 1-5 buttons they can't be killed in 1v1 situation like watch the combat videos of people getting ganked and spamming defences while running around and around. You think this is good combat? Please reconsider this combat needs to be completely redone so that we have a defence and attack bar again or something like holy fuck

Yes and the problem I have with that is that there's no repercussions for those actions, nidbanes don't usually work (unless some cheesing is involved lol) and there's no reasonable siege system in place in order to attack said perpetrators when that happens.

This combat is fucked and has nothing to do with the bullshit seige thing

arguable

I never said that, the combat needs much improvement but I also don't think going back to legacy is the right option either.

So you think having the ability to attack non stop and spam defences? Please explain for legacy combat was not better then this, and I don't mean alt spawning or sign placeing I mean the hitting and getting hit part

Pretty sure legacy combat was essentially the same minus the attack bar, like big deal you had to flex or opp knock before stabbing someone oooh such different. As for defense it is just broken up in to several different defense bars instead of a maneuver and one defense bar and you can't have every single move hotkeyed.

Oh yeah I forgot to say.
Jorb, do something to fix unarmed. I've just sparred with a friend who has steel armor on, and despite me having quite high stats + unarmed skill, I cannot do any damage what so ever, even with Low Blow which is the best attack currently in the unarmed arsenal.
If you're adamant about not adding any armor piercing claw-like weapons or what not, at least give us some new moves to play with. I dunno, fucking, Eye Gouge or some shit, something that ignores some armor anyway.

You know what, unarmed as a whole is just pure shit actually. Even if my friend throws on some shitty q25ish bronze armor, the only move that does reliable damage is Low Blow. I've just spent some time testing all of the other attacks against bronze armor (without my friend throwing up any guards either) and every move is garbage. Kick hits him for 4, KiTO hits for 27. I mean what the fuck is that shit?

If I throw some steel on and my friend with 20 melee hits me with a chop, it still does like 70 damage to me (he was using a q40ish steel sword though, mind you)

This mindset that unarmed is nothing more than a guard dropping skill needs to disappear. Forget adding one extra move like I suggested further up in this post, the current offensive based moves that unarmed has need to be looked at, because they're incredibly bad. Seriously, just go back and take a look at attacks like Kick and Haymaker and tell me with a straight face that they're worthwhile.
Maybe give unarmed some sort of scaling armor ignore depending on your skill, I don't fucking know, I'm just throwing out ideas and hoping one of them is gold, because all I know is currently, if somebody throws on a set of steel, I am incapable of damaging him, regardless of his stats.

Combat update cannot come soon enough. I hope it's being seriously looked into now because jesus christ this is ridiculous.
