Yeah, I think keeping the guns out of crazies' hands is government's responsibility rather than the manufacturer's.

Easy gun ownership is the reason I can't in good conscience count the USA under the civilized western world.
It's a relic from the time when the west was still wild. There are very few cases where it's reasonable to own a gun and use it (frequently).
You know when the civilized world ran around with weapons on their hips? When swords were still in fashion, or when a gun took long enough to load for you to calm down by the time you could use it.

Guns are used to kill things, literally their only purpose.

Knives: Tools
Tobacco, alcohol etc, pleasure, where the dangers are known and self inflicted.
Cars: Transportation
Baseball bat: Tool / toy

A gun's only purpose is to inflict harm, or threat of harm.
Everything else can be abused, and people will find a way to abuse it, simple as that.

As the USA, and their extensions go. The easy access to weapons made it an issue where they are stuck in a circle of needing them for protection.
Then there's gun related crime numbers that you just can't ignore.
Then there's being a large country (too large for it's own good tbh) and many access points for illegal weaponry that just floods in easily.

There's enough legit reasons for weapons in the USA, but let's be honest. Most of the people carrying just want to feel powerful, and have fun with their grown boy toys.

You seem conflicted for this one.

Yeah, but if you need it for hunting, you are not a good hunter.

There's people living in some really remote places in USA (like Alaskan bush), I think it's perfectly reasonable to want a gun in a situation like that.

This is quite simply not true, though. Ivar Kreuger shot himself in Paris in 1932 with a gun that he'd quite simply strolled into a store and bought that same afternoon. No background check, no license, no nothing. Most of the stricter anti-gun measures that today are commonplace in the western world have been implemented during the latter half of the 20th century, curiously enough correlating roughly with an increase in violent crime during that same period.

When the glory of Europe was still a thing -- i.e. before WWI -- both drugs and guns could generally speaking be acquired perfectly legally from your local pharmacist or hardware store respectively, as God intended it.

Liberalism should be illegal. Mental disease, high degree of mortality, inexplicably contagious, &c&c.

Isn't individual freedom (able for buying some weapons, drugs), a liberal ideal?
