No one really thinks about the logic behind these statements but I'd like to point out that any normal 9-5 worker accounts for "entertainment" in their budget, so why should being poor or receiving government funding deny you the right to have fun once in awhile?

I always hear people saying things like "if you're on welfare you shouldn't be buying beer" but who are we to say someone shouldn't be allowed to enjoy themselves sometimes because they receive government funding? Because they are poor? Yes there are people who blatantly abuse these programs but I don't think it's individuals and families that are occasionally going out for dinner together with some of their welfare cheque.

Many people that receive welfare still work full time jobs but aren't paid enough to feed themselves and their family or pay for medication or pay for child care or pay for schooling, etc.
