How do you cope with the reality?

Yes that's true but a lot of those places have yet to feel the weight of a human foot for good reason. There isn't anything there really.

You are saying that jungles dont have anything in them?
Reason for lack of exploring in those areas is that its very difficult to move around jungle.

Jungles generally have some risky wildlife and very risky diseases.
You would be dead by 2 weeks unless you have some special training.

I'm just saying why would you go there. What does this remote and admittedly exotic and fascinating piece of jungle have to offer me in my day to day life?

What I feel is missing from life is the space to just do whatever you want. If I go to this remote piece of rainforest, chop down a bunch of trees, build a hut and start growing weed and cows I'm pretty damn sure it won't be long before somebody shows up and starts telling me to stop. Probably for good reason as well.

There's just too many people. We are victims of our own success as a species. I'm sure this is just a difficult transitional period in our societal evolution and one day everything will be bliss. That doesn't stop me hoping for a catastrophic plague to make a little more room for me to be who I am and express myself without bothering anyone else or having anyone else bother me.

My other coping methods involve making my life seem a lot more interesting than it really is. For instance, I often narrate my own life, do recaps and mentally play theme music when I think it's appropriate. In essence, I imagine my life as a tv show.

This thread went from looking semi-serious to being real serious somewhere. Guess I should post my real coping strategy, and it comes from a book I read when I was in college. "Finite and Infinite Games" by James P. Carse.
