Thats why this thread exists. Recruiting recruiters. If there are more than 2 people bumping the thread the ball starts rolling and we might have a large group to conquer the world with.

For example I am currently taking part of one of these community gaming events and its some browser game. Pretty sure a game like Haven has a much higher chance to drum up some hype. Threads don't even get posted on any of the video game boards but /pol/,/b/ and /r9k/
You'd be surprised.

I love a good revival! Hoo yeah!

kilakan wrote:Realistically if you are gonna be spreading the word about to get a ton of new players, it'd be best done from the LS of a New Brodgar type place (without leadership who is gonna piss off everyone, everywhere.) wait till you have a charterstone and do an intro to the game that includes how to spawn at said charter stone. I mean, if the leadership and experienced players who are there aren't cancer you could probably get everyone to agree to leave the new playerbase relatively alone and it'd be a good way for them to work together and learn the game.

This seems sensible to me... but it will take a long time before we'll see charter stones.

I'll riff off of this, and say perhaps we would do well to advertise not only that the server is starting up, but that we're willing to offer help to newbies who want to join, and offer them our help via Skype or TS3 or something so that they can get a tutorial from players who know.

With a bit of tender love and care... We will convert the masses! There will be thousands of em, I tell ya!

The review looks pretty good. There's a couple of mistakes in the grammar, for example: "Ethernal Alpha stage" should be "Eternal alpha stage". Personally, I do not find haven and hearth that hard to get into compared to when I started back in world 6 or so. It does seem a'lot more beginner friendly. Instead of saying that the game is so unintuitive you are forced to use the wiki, and saying it takes hours to figure out the simplest of things, you should just say that it has a steep learning curve and leave it at that. You want to tell them that the game is hard to learn, not frustrating. The game is literally not hard to learn in my opinion, its just different from the rest so it takes time to get adjusted to.

You should also add in, that the game will reset on January 8th, so that people who start playing now will know when to start playing. You should add this at the start review and make it sound exciting. This will get players who basically like competitiveness side of games to jump right in. While showing peaceful players that since the game just started, there will be a lack of power abusers.

Where is the best place to find Haven's target demographic though? I think you'd have a lot of attention if you dangled a piece of bloody meat next to the ad in some wilderness location.

i shill about this game on /v/ periodically so I'll do that

They usually get next to no attention and die drop really fast

General consensus is that the devs have made stupid decisions and everyone from there who played legacy won't be returning any time soon.

Heard this when w5 started, too, and curiosity killed the cat. Sure, there's a lot of people that quit after w4 and never came back again, a lot of people that started playing again, at least for a bit.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Thx, I'll try to do my best, English is not my first language. I would like this to be a community made thing, so feel free to edit the review, add or change some stuff....then I'll make a final version and when we all are agree about I'll post it on reddit, and you all are free to spam it everywhere you like.
Moreover if you have nice pics, default client, cam ortho, max graphic and a good resolution post them in here to be added to the review.....try to post pics related to the review, for example when i speak about the Spitroast, a nice pic of you spitrosting over a fire,etc...

I just realized that I don't know how to write a review on reddit (never used before)....so from what i have understood you can write only text messages or only pic/link messages. So, is there anyone of you familiar with reddit? what is the best thing to do? Just write the review here on our forum and put the link on reddit?
Pls let me know, thx.

Maybe you should be posting such things on the communities you are actually familiar with? The message needs to be adapted to the medium you're posting on.
Check Ricky's H&H review on bay12 forums for an example on how to do that properly (the spoilers part that is, the rest is only relevant for bay12 or people already familiar with the game)

Good to know that other people are spreading the word about the game. Do you know what is the best way to post a game review on reddit?
I'm simply trying to do something, as I already said I would like this to be a community made thing....so if you can help i would appreciate it, otherwise i'll do the best i can do.
