The sentance above is complete bullshit. Christianity has many differenct.. movements. For example, jehovas witnesses are literally waiting for the world to end. I wouldnt call that as an optimistic looking into the future. (Except of course, if you get to the heaven after that or something)
also science is part of the Christianity in its roots and logic, being born in our civilization and from our culture.
It depends. There are many different forms of christianity you know? They all have more or less different opinions about scientific progress, of course those have changed over time. For example, some did not allow autopsies for a long time, and some still dont, thus dragging back medical science. (Such as jehovas witnesses, but there are others as well). Being too curious about anything, was not that good thing either... Because why should you try to inspect gods work?
One major thing which proves my point is one old book that you might have heard about "On the Origin of Species" written by Charles Darwin. It was vastly criticized in the beginning by many heads of religion.
But in the other hand, some priests were scientists as well.
Calling christianity as one in these matters is just stupid. Stance to many things has changed over the time as well.

The seachange in data collection is far more worrying. Silicon Valley oligarchs and their tech firms know more about individuals and their daily habits than their users are consciously aware of. Apple INC. knows where you've been - unless you place your cellphone in a Faraday cage. So, yeah, I don't really want silicon valley robber barons collecting and their employees legally or illegally selling or sharing my behavioural data with private data mongers or government bureaucrats. We as users simply can't trust any of these private entities or State agents to do the right thing.
By the by. I think we need to shackle and monitor silicon valley tech giants very closely. Even moreso than federal and state government (until we the people decide what these potentially bad actor can and can't do with their artificially inteligent algorithms
Anyone can follow you to see where you go, look what things you buy, who you interact with, even without a phone.
