Anyway as for Wurm; experiences may vary. I found the PvE community to be mostly populated by angry, noob hating hermits. Leaving trash around, chopping trees in the wrong place and having a bad attitude will result in experiences akin to Sheeps. Protip: Ask in chat if anyone has a plague of fruit trees near them if you want to level your woodcutting skills. Treat the people around you with courtesy and respect instead of a sense of entitlement and you will have better experiences. The biggest problem with the community is inter-faction corruption. Essentially the vets all know each other. It's a very similar situation to the political infighting in Hafen. Whatevs though. Wurm is not on the cutting forefront of progress within the (loose) genre.

I dont even know who you are. As for dragon armour being easy to get, last time I played it was worth about 100 euros and there were only a few sets in circulation that were gatekept by veterans because dragons almost never spawned, not sure if thats changed or not but it certainly wasn't "easy".

I've never played a PvE server in Wurm so I wouldnt know about PvE community. Got 3k hours on wurm unlimited and maybe more on normal Wurm. I've played every PvP server on WO and WU and on the biggest WU server I had highest PvP kills so Im qualified to say: ITS A SHIT GAME, way past its prime and you will never truly catch up to the veterans. It somehow manages to be even slower pace and more grindy than haven, which is probably why it has the same atmosphere as a retirement home.

More interestingly though... Nobody has tried Valheim? It looks really, really good and has outstanding reviews. I would have thought the community here would be all over it.

Not only because of what it is but because of what it has the potential to become. It makes me wonder how games like LiF would have fared had they pre-released as co-op. The corruption on privately hosted servers was very destructive to the community. Such were my experiences.

While i'm with you that wurm is going down the sink, man, you had to be around the game more than 5 years ago, before they attempted at xanadu, the largest server they made (with incredibly shitty results, including months of spawning problems), because after that server, and honestly even before that, drake leather was under 80€ if you wanted to buy it directly with money, but atm they are down to like half of that, and in either way, i never payed a coin to play wurm, and still had 3 accounts active at times, 2 drake hide armors made from leather i gathered and bought around, and an awful lot more stuff sitting in my claim, including a number of supreme tools, all enchanted...You need to pay for wurm only if you really want to, it's pretty easy to forage or "work" for some coins in game that is more than enough to play freely and without spend anything.

Wurm have a great advantage over h&h, that is, incredibly, the persistence of the servers, but honestly, the reasons for that thing are not applicable to haven...
