:)

@ Serbuch
It's not a broken mechanic, it's intended and its a good mechanic imo, I agree with Sarge wholeheartedly ... curio botting was truly game altering for both those that botted and those that didn't and I suspect it's mainly those that have been used to having cupboards full of pearls and edels that miss it the most. :P

The idea of having really rare curios and based on a fate system rather than on stats is a nice one anyway, I think it is fun and it will be all the more exciting and meaningful when you do find one. Pls, do not remove them. :)

Excellent analysis. Please play according to this theory and report back with results.

Couldn't you allow there to be a fate bar (1/100) (100/100 = 100% chance see all fate curio, 1/100 = 1% chance see all fate curio) AS LONG AS YOUR PERC x EXPLOR allows it of course.- This bar should be Hidden.

This fate bar will lower while you are online (Bots constantly online for very long periods of time, No lifers also online for very long periods of time)
And also takes a hit when you collect a fate curio, EXAMPLE: a Edel will hit 40 points of your fate bar and a Bluebell hits 60 points of your fate bar (Just example exact figures could be higher or lower depending on how good the fate curio you find is)

This bar will then gain while you are OFFLINE. This stops Bots and 24/7 no lifers.
obviously with this system will allow you to get 1 fate curio fairly easy and after that still having a chance to see them but just not nearly as much / at all.

Just for the record I havn't found any fate curios at all (unless 1 bolete counts 2 day into the world) and 70% of my 5 - 7 hours a day are spend exploring. I mainly just wander caves now for Glimmermoss as otherwise I could spend every free moment of my day after work walking around swamps for no reason to find nothing apart from dragonflies.
TRAITORS WILL BE SHOT.

I got 0 of any rare stuff in this world.
Also people sound stupid when they talk about fate. If you find good curio youre lucky. If you dont find then youre unlucky. Fate is stupid word and it should be banned from use.

I really am not sure why people complain at all. Sarge hit the nail on the head: People are used to an old system from an old game. Now we have a new game with new systems, take lp gain for what it is.

Not like anyone with 2 or 3 more fate finds than you is way ahead or anything. It is just a nice addition of an otherwise just slower paced lp system.

I just play the game as if fate curios didn't exist and use the other ones. When I stumble upon one? Great! (Which I never do...)

Also Glimmer beats them all anyway...

I've seen some good points about the value of the curios compared to their rarity though. If they are rare it makes it more interesting if the value is higher. If the value stays the same they should be a little more common than they are now.

Items that you may never find which are only just a little better than items you can find all the time don't really add much to the game. Of course it is not better to remove them from the game, however they could be made more significant and then that would be better.

I would vote to make them high value items to stimulate trade.
