I certainly don't want to be if I can learn free techniques and live using them [drugs] instead.

Avoid smoking at all costs if at all possible

Also, some of the tactics for quitting smoking can also help with ADHD (gum chewing, for one)

Well, I'm glad I don't smoke...

From what I have read about medication and testimonies of friends who have used it, some medications can do a lot of damage to brain structure.

In my humble opinion medication should be a last resort, but instead it seems to be the first step in most treatment programs. ADHD medication is perhaps in a different tier to the anti-depressants and mood stabilisers I am talking about considering it is considered a nootropic.

Actually, even my shrink wanted me to use cognitive therapy before getting into medication - even if I was ADHD. Even on the medicine, I don't often formally use cognitive therapy to overcome my cognitive distortions. But it's affected my thinking for the better, and I partially credit my shrink for helping me overcome some bad habits through it.

I sort my M&M's by colour but I think that's very mild OCD, not Autism. Never been diagnosed with either.

The running joke in Wurm Online is that everyone there has OCD.

It's kind of amusing to me that this games population has chosen to align itself with autism.

TBH, I think that this is just some of the jargon of 4Chan types. You find these people everywhere online, so it's not surprising that some of their little buzzwords and mannerisms have snuck into even remote corners of the internet like this one. Maybe I just pay attention to the wrong things, but they're the only people that I notice who use the word 'autist' on a regular basis. They have a weird obsession with autism, and often not in a pleasant way.
Tedium is a feature.

Formerly known as DaMaGe. Been playing on and off since World 3 in 2010, but my old account no longer functions.

I was always under the impression 4Chan was one guy (Or girl? ), or at least that's how it's always portrayed in the news when someone is hacked.

During the first 5 years your brain is much more receptive to learning new things and taking in information, which is why you can find 3 year olds who speak several languages
If your first 5 years are traumatic or unfulfilled you can see all kinds of weird things popping up later in life

It's not always the case, but not many people can argue that the early years are not very important for shaping who you are or how you respond, and that the things learned during that time can be very hard to change later on

Extremely true here. My sister was severely bad off when she was diagnosed, but we got her a teacher that would teach her normal things like asking for toys, pointing, making eye contact, and stuff like that. Shes 8 and if you told someone she had autism they wouldn't have been able to guess it.
