I've found an Edelweiss with a new character. It sucks by the way :P

What about the part where high explo*perc characters aren't finding them? Everybody that's found them seems to have default stats.
Better yet, why not just remove the luck based system altogether so we can actually find curiosities that aren't god awful with some regularity. Waiting 24 hours for Enthroned Toads just to give me 4k LP which works out at 1 point of exploration isn't fun. I haven't seen a single person complain about the old foraging system.

Increasing those stats certainly won't harm you. If anything they are not relevant, and that is not as it should be in that case.

Again, play more casually. I have no intention to bring back the incentives to, indeed, wall off entire mountains and run bot combines over them.

I must say I agree with your intention. It's good that you don't want to bring this particular grind back. There's no harm in having high end curios be something you stumble upon by luck while you're out hunting or looking for other forageables, and have the crafted curios as the main source of LP.

This isn't my problem. My problem is if I was to make a character right now, find the alt, take it back to my village and run through my swamp. I'm 110% positive it will find a bluebell before my main finds one.

Can you elaborate on what "circumstances" have to be in place in order for "fate" to bless us with these items? Because I'm pretty sure it has to deal with our characters

I've noticed a pattern. These anti-bot measures seem to have done more harm to the game than good.
You keep saying play casually, but I didn't buy a years subscription to play casually, so if that is some sort of indication that the rare shit doesn't show up if you've been on all day (Like I have been) in an attempt to deter botters, then tell me now because I'd rather just get a refund and play something else. I'm not having the best curiosity that I can get at 35 Exploration and 42 Perception be a dragonfly, which anybody can go ahead and pick up.

All of the other stuff (Thistle, Bramble, Bladderwrack, Snapdragon, Dewy, Toadstool, Frogs Crown, ) suck, and there's no way I can keep up with the increased LP cost of skills with those.

Besides, your whole "I don't want people blocking off mountains and what not" thing doesn't explain why Flotsam, Bluebells, Bolets and who knows what else are receiving the same treatment.
