We considered permissions but arrived at the conclusion that it was too ugly in terms of management, conflicts with overlapping claims, and whatnot. Who can set permissions on a gate, for example? Using what list of persons? &c&c.

Permissions imply a lot more ugliness than people imagine.

Overlapping claims? Not possible - and since Vclaim is trumped by Pclaims?

Permission will be set by gate. It has nothing to do with claiming. It is exactly what the key system can be now, but key is not a physical item. Abstract key cannot be revoked just as physical key cannot. You can reset all key if you have a ''master key permission.'' Just as installing a new lock.

This system is the same except there is no theft of the keys.
