How did you find out H&H?

You could force the player to re-buy the game every they die and stuff like that, but that's some seriously questionable business practices.

New form of trolling: killing same person repeatedly until they quit or can't afford to play the game anymore.

Then again, I dropped a ton of quarters into games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter back in the day.

My point was more that I did drop a lot of quarters into those games. I sucked, yet I still competed. If it were cheap enough, I suppose I'd drop a lot of quarters into a game across the internet to get a replay or continue. Guess it would be more a comparison of time/value to the individual player and if it appeared the devs weren't cheating people

I discovered Haven & Hearth around Nov 02, 2013 while browsing 4chan's /vg/. Apparently Haven had a general for a while, but I've never seen it since. Anyways, I checked it out and played for a few weeks and met a guy named Lobo and built a hermitage. He got mauled by a bear and quit and then I quit shortly after due to the game being impossibly boring by yourself.
I've always wondered who those players on /vg/ were! Speak up if one of them was you!

Just curious....most of all about very old players that joined the game in 2009/2010....how did you find this game?
About me, i don't recall exactly but I believe somewhere on reddit or some sandbox games website. I discovered first H&H then Salem.

I found it on the Bay 12 Games forum after my first burn-out from grinding in EVE. There was an active B12 village in world 3, but by the time I went to see about joining up, they had started drifting away from the game.

as for me.
i found salem YEARS ago on paradox and treid it out but it wa sso much in alpha that i quit soon after.
tried it again once it was running for a year and was hooked. when mortal moments took over i ran to H&H and have been here ever since.
