Yeah pretty much ... lets say I have my envision of the world. I mean, I already thought at those things multiple times, my ideas are changing with aging but some are always the same. Lets say the fundamental ones. Such as if we are good or bad.

I've never even heard of it before. Probably everyone else feels the same. Wait it's in North America right? So it's pretty much just an obscure state of the USA like Mexico.

Canada is like US but smaller (by population at least) a bit colder and I guess they smoke weed.

These days its easy to do a few google searches to learn about the world. So there are no valid reasons for being dumb.

And in a single Google search, you get anywhere from "factually correct" to "fake news."

Does recognition from others matter?

Depends on who you ask. I think the Brits overturned the guy trying to establish the "country" of Sealand. Found an article about an Indian man who claimed a stretch of land between Egypt and Sudan that neither claimed as his own and made himself King of that land.

Recognition is everything. If you can't get recognized by others, it doesn't matter if you declare yourself the king of Timbuktu. Either nobody will care, or people will call you crazy. But if someone does recognize you as such, then everyone else has to contest it. Ignoring it is an option, especially if it's only one country recognizing it. However, even if it's the most powerful country in the world, if they aren't willing to exert their influence in the proper way, it still won't matter.
