Because of fees involved in buying stocks and other things, investing with small sums is useless. Even if you were able to buy something, it would be bad if you only had stocks of one company.
Maybe some funds without many costs, but those are kind of scams anyway!

Who tells to you that you are not finacing some companies that cut forest around the world to build fucking shopping centers? or some evil shit ...
Isn't that a problem of yours, right? What can you do, a single man, about that? nothing, right?
We are just gears in the machinery, we are not responsible for ourselves, but just for the apparatus .... it doesn't matter what is good or bad for us, the apparatus decide what is good or bad, and we operate according to that ... man it's not worth anymore.

Lets say you are giving money to industries that produces anti-personal mines .... does that makes you a evil person? or does that make the employees, that work there, bad?

Money are not richness, wealth .... money are a symbol of wealth. With symbols you do not get rich.
Making money with money doesn't makes any sense ... it's not even a job .... "you'll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking"

Playing the stock market is just glorified gambling, might as well go to Vegas. Most of so called experts' portfolios perform worse than index funds, and those that perform better are simply luck.

I wrote up a long post as a reply here, but the TL;DR version:

@shubla--shame on you. educate yourself on the various investment tools better. Maybe you don't have access to some of them because you're Finnish and government regulations don't allow them or the fees for accessing the US funds are too high for you. Not everyone in the world plays be the same rules.

@potjeh--educate yourself, man. Not all investing is gambling. Day trading, short term investing for small gains with large volumes, margin trading... these are gambling and only have slightly better odds of getting ahead than seriously learning and playing poker, and take as much time to learn properly. Investing is about finding good companies that are in it for the long term, and then buying stocks or bonds in that company. Over time, you'll see a better return than investing with a bank, and even that has its place in a balanced portfolio.

I looked at some of this stuff before as a way to play with it and keep some skills going, but the truth is that these are meant for people looking to "play the market" without risking anything, and as potjeh put it, it might as well be labeled gambling. A couple of good books or websites on researching and understanding profits, margins, basic accounting, and the various ratios other investors use is all you need if you plan on investing for long term gains rather than short term yields. That kind of left me 'meh' on these investment games. If a person has those kinds of skills to be on top in the games, well.... /shrug.

For people that try to get rich quick, I agree.
Some investing companies with funds go to crazy lengths to predict what they should invest in. Hiring meteorologists and looking at satellite images of ports to track ships and amount of containers moving through them for example... One man cannot outplay them, except in sheer luck.

But investing in stocks is not gambling nor really that difficult. We can generally say that over longer periods of time, the stocks usually go up. If you decentralize your investments properly in multiple companies, or then just use index funds with smaller amounts you can at least beat the inflation in longer periods of time, if you are saving money for something. (Such as retirement)

i do it cause it feels like gambling honestly, with out risk whats the fun right lol

i prob have a gambling problem

let just say i should own that horse track for the amount iv lost lol naw i play low its the strategy of it

stocks little like the way i try when at the track to learn about the horse

get the trainers name or names google thier record and experience are thier horse doing good

(you look into the stock, read news about it, look at its history)

jockey same thing experience here is best

(you look into ceos and owners)

how does that horse do on the type of tracks

(has this company survived trouble in the past how did it fare, what type of situation whould harm this stock would it recover)

now all thats far easier said then done but i try and i enjoy the hunt more then anything really

This is the reason I don't bet on the dog and horse shows. There's so little control over the outcome. If you have to gamble, stick to things where you have control over the action: poker, fantasy sports, etc. While you might not control everything, you can at least bow out and cut your losses before things go too far down.

But if anyone ever feels like losing some money at poker, I'll be glad to take it.

I'm pretty hyped to try this game out, I'll probably stream it when I finally get some time away from my family

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5951 ... ea_Online/

Gran Skrea. It seems to have a pretty steep learning curve on the combat with PVP areas where you can gank farmers/foragers or other PKers. I heard about it through the OSRS community and people have said it has similarities.
Bought it tonight so hopefully it's a good time killer
