Also I would like to add that he didn't log out to avoid the starvation mechanic in-fact it would seem pretty obvious that he didn't realise his character was starving and had to go do something in real life, then the game kept him logged in while he was unable to prevent his demise by simply eating some food

Sorry about you loss, you where a great part of the community, that I saw. Now its time to delegate someone to pick up your trading caravan services. Unless you have a successor. Because that is something that would really help the community and really bring people together.

So is the "not loogging out properly" when game client closed only happens with custom clients or is it on original too ?
If its custom clients only problem - then devs have nothing to do with that and they stated that in wizards forum section... So the most logical solution would be not to use custom clients ? But but ...

ps: i wonder what devs would say if A LOT of players would loose their accounts stolen with custom clients (and its not a zero probability it happens). Like "we said you dont use custom clients" huh ? Just make so 95% of people would not need custom clients.

It's always been possible when exiting by force closing without logging out first. Some circumstances can occur that keep you in the game world or the client running in a hung state in the background without anyone knowing about it. I just got in the habit of logging out first explicitly.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

In Age of Wushu, when you logged out your character could take a job if one was available in the area, becoming an NPC essentially. Other characters could then kidnap you :)

Yeah that was one of the coolest features I've seen in an MMO :)

Interesting concept, but holy crap was it annoying. On a populated server kidnapping was so popular that income from afk jobs was essentialy nil.
