Ain't the guns that kill people. It's the attitudes and beliefs. People will kill each other regardless if they have access to a gun, sword, or knife if they want to do it. Do guns make it easier? Sure, but more than a few gangs are starting to get away from guns as it's just one more thing to get tacked on when they do go to prison that goes from a 10 year sentence to 20-30.

Then again, maybe it's the whole "criminal justice system" mentality that is the problem in marginalizing a large section of the population where the only alternative is to turn to illicit activities like drug trafficking and such. (It's not the only, just the "easy" one.) Should it even be a choice? Take away that choice, and there goes a large part of the problem. If there is no longer a reason to be combative, then of course the violence rate is going to go way down.

Guns are regulated. And really, it's not a gun problem but a people problem. Iceland has tons of guns but you don't see regular school shootings there. Meanwhile, Brazil has heavy gun control and people get gunned down in the favelas every day.

Everything else is about right, though the idea that "Murkans r stoopid lmao" is pushed to the extreme since the country is huge and it's easy to find lots of stupid shit going on there. In Russia, for example, you can also find dumb shit all the time. I don't believe the average American is any worse than the average person from other countries. Another thing to keep in mind is that they don't need to learn a second language to bring their nonsense online while most of the monolingual people from your country won't be able to show the rest of the world how dumb they are.

One thing that I've heard a lot of Americans say is that they need their gun rights for when the government inevitably turns on them and they will need to defend themselves from themselves.

In Spain riot gears under the corrupt government have been using violence against hippies and peacefull protesters. Any neanderthal and bully from school end up beeing a violent policeman here.
When miners went to protest to the capital they tried the same strategiez they ever use: infiltration among protesters to start a fire and then have an excuse to charge. Ofc the result was the oposite than against hippies siting on the ground.
