It's fine if you don't play the game enough or with a group and so some things are missed by you, but you really should give the players a chance to fumble around with new changes to bigger things like mining, credos, animal AI or combat beforehand

The test server was a brilliant idea, and I've never been sure why they've never tried it again, honestly.

That can only work in this game if those testers are paid and forbidden from playing the actual game by their contract.
Ideally they should also be unfamiliar with the game prior to this job, but that's make them rather useless in testing.

I think the new world is great and Gorbo/Lorftor ought to feel proud they've made a game that so many people are passionate about.

I actually kinda like the survival hardcap hunting change. It ensures that I can just always butcher an animal I just killed instead of having to worry about maybe ruining the quality if I don't take it home and equip better survival gear before butchering it. Any change that eliminates having to change gear for minor tasks is a welcome one to me.

If you're not being ironic, this might be the one time you and I are going to be in full agreement about something.

I'm not being ironic.

I'm sure you and I can agree on all sorts of stuff.

I like it so far,

Bees need beekeeping stuff

and mining needs math. Not a fan of supported tiles causing cavins that's just a dick move

I say just be glad we don't have to dig out the calculus and civil engineering to design support systems that don't kill the miners and anyone above ground when it collapses.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

On the topic of supports - just some ideas from short experience with mining:

1) If support destruction would not cause X3 AoE cave-in all around it would be manageable change. Right now unless you place multiple overlapping supports first one to break will cause cave-in on any tile that is not covered by other supports. I do understand *realism* argument, but sometimes adjustments should be made away from realism just to make game fun to play.

2) Decrease repair cost of supports so it is feasible to repair them. Right now repairing is significantly more expensive than building new one, but that is not feasible due to point 1.

3) Scale structural damage from prevented Cave-in with mine depth, so wooden support can survive 10 cave-ins on level 1 and 2 cave-ins on level 5. Make it so investment-reward ratio scales with depth (more and better ore in deep mines, hard to maintain supports in deep mines).

Pick one option that you like the most. My personal choice is 2+3.

P.S. Maybe these things were proposed in other threads, but sometimes we must scream.
