Lol no. At least on Rustafied EU long no clan ever rebuilds after having their base raided even if it's just ten days into a month long wipe. It's just pointless when you can't get off the ground because opposing clans have too much sulphur stockpiled.

I will have to say in the longer worlds, particularly last one and w7 (w6 was so laggy it was painful to come back), people showed back up that wouldn't have had a wipe been expected in a few months, but it was more of trickle rather than a large "jump back in" event like a reset brings. At least, that's my take of it from reading the forums.

That's a fair point, and it's kinda sad that brick walls are useless. But there really needs to be a way for upgrading an existing palisade to a brick wall before palisades are nerfed, and wrecking ball just doesn't cut it.

I think this is basically what this thread is about. Palisading Ressources, Realm Cairns etc. costs basically nothing and is pain in the ass to tear down. Nobody wants bases to be easy siegable but everything with a palisade around it being basically invincable if you dont camp 16h+ seems retarded.

It needs to be something realistic, how long do you think it should be? Sitting there doing a bash animation for 2 hours seems like a long time to me?? If it was the biggest village in the game, 1 ram wouldnt raid it-They can only travel about 20 tiles currently. Also if it was biggest village they should be able to muster some kind of defence within 2 hours right?

The reason siege never gets fixed is because any suggestion gets shits on by like half a dozen PvErs who become hysterical about the prospect of losing their 300ql carrots. Also because jorbtar are very lazy and kinda dumb, they try reworking it a bunch of times and do a terrible job now seem to have given up.

Don't forget palisades used to be bashable by hand in about 5 minutes. What I'm suggesting isnt even close to that. I'm suggesting a perfectly reasonable method of raiding but because it actually works you are pretending like it is outrageous because you consciously or subconsciously dont want raiding in this game. Dont know why u pretend otherwise lol.

There was nothing specifically wrong with the way legacy handled raiding other than it requiring 2-3 ram checks a day. I think a fair amount of people wanted to just revert back to legacy minus pali-bashing. The issue is that instead of doing that, they went with a 24 hour timer, oh and an alert that pings your carebear ass when you log in to harvest your carrots. Shields weren't even the worst thing this game had ever seen, they just needed the obvious abuse mechanics worked out and they would've been fine. Layering multiple shields on top of eachother and abusing pclaim/banner movement to triple the amount of active time it took to break in was where the issue was - imo that's all they needed to address.

yeah because any village that isnt a faction hooked up on phones and all irl will be able to defend in 2 hours. its very wide audience youre trying to please. its real time based game and having only 2 hours period is not enough. 12 hours should be the absolute minimum and if ever, factions should be able to pull of 24 hours siege with people changing places. yeah it is boring but it its not like you are forced to do it.

and if you wanna just raid noobs / people who cant retaliate / have time to defend themselfs then just look for holes. seen quite a lot places to fall because some dumb person left with keys that gave access from outside without any visitor buff.

but i wanna get back to shields fixed
