It has no marketing; we are what remains of Haven, and changing the game to appeal to your core playerbase is something every developer does if they want to retain an audience. I know the skills to run a game isn't exactly common sense, but unless you have a very large and dedicated base of players (which this game doesn't, it has a SMALL dedicated playerbase), you can't really afford to continually disappoint the audience without the game inevitably losing most of its population. Like what's happening. Right now.
It might be good for the devs to start advertising the game when the core issues are solved. Right now I feel like newcomers would leave quickly.
I agree; I'm not saying we SHOULD be advertising, just that because we are not, the most reasonable source of new players are from word of mouth; which is fine and charming and all, but if you don't appeal to the current playerbase, then those who DO talk to others about the game will eventually lose interest and quit, causing the population to shrink pretty quick.
With that in mind, appealing to the players who do play right now is probably wise; not that they should bow down to every whim and request, but that designing features while keeping in mind what the community generally likes/dislikes is good.
