man your comparisons are getting so annoying, do you really think nobody complained about this shit in the past? After several years of the same mechanic with no change, you eventually just stop complaining about it.

This is the time to start complaining again before we get stuck with the same issues.

Been playing on and off for 4ish years now, never seen a serious complaint about this in the past. Jorb is already on the record that hunting is intended to get an entire revamp with tracking/trapping and etc, but that it's not coming yet.

What more do you want exactly?

We have been killing bears with 10 con and 10 MM since day one and that doesn't feel right to me.
We've moved on from the complaint that "badgers are too murderous" to "badgers don't let me kill them" in only one day. What does that say about hunting progression? And, better yet, about how the late game will be?

Yeah, I guess. But I'm still not a fan of permanent debuffs in that case. Maybe eventually when you kill the murderous bastard PvP god, you can examine his corpse and see his character sheet and find the list of 5 million scars all caused by his victims one way or another.

Also murder should have consequences of retaliation and I'm not sure if they always had in the past when they were in hearth vaults.

Edit: On hunting, we have bows and arrows, animals are easy kills in real life with that mostly. Bears are a whole another level and we don't need to adhere to realism. But a sensible progression and sensible hunting mechanics (sneaking up to them? Taking that crucial first crippling shot? Bears wouldn't give a fuck, but the others would. How many initial shot attempts should it take to hit at 10 MM? 10? How many at 50? 2?

That's the intention of the scent system, consequences must be dealt by human hand though. As for the scarring and stuff: It's not really lore based, it's a physical reduction in hp intended to weaken titan fighters if they take too many risks. And also presumably a difficulty/danger modifier to some more dangerous activities like hunting bears and etc.

Either way, I'm curious to see where we go next.

Me neither. AI needs to improve, and whatnot.

It's a complaint that comes up every once in awhile, similar to how players would be chasing other players for extended periods of time, nobody likes doing it with animals either. It's rather difficult to go and find any posts at the moment due to missing threads.

If you are really telling me that you never saw any serious complaints about one's ability in the past to trap animals, clip them against something or shoot from a boat. No duh? Not many people complain about something that is easy.

What more do you want exactly?

For issues that have existed for years to be dealt with? It would also be nice if you stopped taking the mechanics of legacy haven in to account so much and just explained how you felt about them from your own perspective instead of "...but in legacy haven..."

I shall patiently wait for your hunting revamp.

And seeing as it's an early game concept and a PvE depth concept, hope it comes soon for my entertainment.

Edit: Offtopic but: I was pleasantly surprised to see that I could remove stone tiles easily by stomping on them, instead of waiting for my farm to kick off to correct it by planting grass.

I'm still of the opinion that bats should be super aggressive unless you're wearing a bat cape, at which point they accept you as one of their own.

Its not the AI alone, bows are just.. way too overpowered, at the moment. A q10 bow with bone arrows hits for 200. Oneshots deer, foxes, badgers and sheep. Walk right up to them and shoot an arrow into them point blank range. To do that much damage with the old hnh starter bow(called the slingshot!) you needed a ridiculous amount of quality.

It aint balanced at all. In melee, you at least risk getting hit. The shitty bow is just plain overpowered.
