Point me in the right direction and I'd gladly do so. "The Federal Reserve is privately owned" just reeks of some Alex Jones type paranoia, from a currently unenlightened point of view at least.

There are a lot of things wrong with the federal reserve banking system and ownership is probably not the most important.

FED is owned by the private banks, which are mandated to put in 10% (of what they lend out) as a fractional reserve and get 6% guaranteed interest of it.
FED also creates money out of nothing and then lends it to the gouvernment for interest, which is then used to pay the private interest for the private banks.

This is a scheme which funnels massive amounts of money out of the pockets of joe taxpayer into the pockets of the owners of the private banks, it is the biggest robbery in mankinds history when you ignore the catholic church (which had more time to do it).

Reminds me of another election about two decades ago... someone didn't (or wouldn't have--forget off top of my head) get a chance at republican nom, so he ran as an independent. It split the republican vote and pulled in a good percentage of the undeclared voters. Clinton won with less than a 50% majority of the popular vote. Ross Perot screwed Bob Dole, I guess you could say. :P

As the ancient Chinese curse goes, "May you live in interesting times." It'll definitely be interesting with Trump in office.

I wish I could say I was privileged enough to support Trump, but I wasn't born with a silver spoon up my ass. And if that was the case, I still wouldn't vote for Trump or any of the other jokers up there... maybe Cruz. He looks like a good guy for making the rich richer while throwing platitudes at the Christian right. Who knows... might actually get a Constitutional amendment pushed through to give the right to life to the unborn.

No the FED is owned by the US Government. Private banks at the regional level are mandated to buy investment in the group so the system reflects not just government interests.

I wonder if Sanders would be willing, should he lose the nomination, to run third party? That would make things much more interesting. He did start as an indy. And he surely believes in himself and his social ideals...

He has explicitly stated he won't because this would guarantee a loss for the democrats. He has also been vocal that he will not start campaigning for Clinton should he lose the nomination.

That's what happened for Clinton? That's
pretty interesting. I was too young to have
any memory or care of that, but that's a
very interesting note to know.

The main thing that bothers me about the
whole trump thing is that he's clearly not
going to do what he's saying, or show his
real hand. People legitimately believe he's
going to do all this stuff he's talking about
but it's not realistic, and he's not that stupid.
So if he does indeed get elected, then we
have someone who's gotten through on a
facade. Total Gamble. Cruz i don't think is
a good candidate, and it worries me that
he has support... but i don't think the Right
will pick him. Clinton is, as we all know,
a puppet. Bernie has quite amazingly good
intentions, but if he does get elected i can't
see anything happening. Cockblocked 24/7
with everyone trying to bring him down and
make him look like a bad guy. Same could
be said for Trump, but trump's a better liar
so i can see him pretending to really want
one thing while slipping his hand past their
wall.

TBH i have little faith any candidate will be
able to make much impact... but i do have
hope.

I'd like to think that if Trump actually won that he would step down shortly after because I'm sure that even he knows that he is not cut out for the job
