It's a long time but it doesn't preven sieging that much.

Which is why Ardennesss found your idea pretty dumb in the first place.
_____
Why would anyone spend a long time and/or resources to raid noobs?

Because they get a hardon from ruining people's game.
This game has proven that over and over.

And you are part of that proof.

and if you wanna just raid noobs / people who cant retaliate / have time to defend themselfs then just look for holes. seen quite a lot places to fall because some dumb person left with keys that gave access from outside without any visitor buff.

but i wanna get back to shields fixed

Okay make it 3-4 hours and add timezone like raffeh said.

Grog you need to pick one, total invulnerability for noobs or a functional sieging system.

If sieging cost lots of time and resources only very dumb people will throw that at raiding hermits. If you disagree then thats fine, but at least be honest and say you dont want raiding in this game.

make raiding expensive. it means people wont waste valuable resources to raid hermits. ONLY big villages will be raided and they should be able to defend themselves.

In regards to being raided at 4 am. the raiding window fixes that. you set your own 6 hour window which means you can have your maximum potential of players online.

If a ram cost 20 steel bars i wouldn't raid anything that doesn't give me that back or more. or even more expensive if you wish make it cost 2/3/5 gold bars or silver bars what ever but right now there are issues with unbreakable palisades around kingdom cairns etc etc.

Lol. OK. Here is a fix to raiding I can think of off the top of my head that fixes this "issue"... battering rams = takes 1-2 hours to bash walls, Costs 10 steel bars and 10 hardened leather to create. Woww suddenly I just fixed raiding, it is a raiding system that no one will bother to raid hermits and isnt hard to implement. NO NEED TO THANK ME loftar.

This perhaps creates issue of "offline raiding" which many other games have, then just implement raffs "raid window" suggestion.

The alternative is no raiding. If this is PvE game then dev should at least be honest about it.

You could make a basically unraidable base with these mechanics with just one layer. You'd do a vertical wall of visitor gates /w benches on the inside and just bash rams from inside your own pali.

Pls don't influence developer opinions with your farmville opinions pls

I was buying steel for 5GQ each last world. There are public steel bots. Nerds have minesweeper bots. I would totes still raid hermits with those prices.

People saying you should just stand around for 24 hours and watch the clock tick down are basically PvE scrubs living in fantasy land who like the idea of raiding but dont want any viable form of raiding implemented.

Sorry but this is the dumbest, least fun, most unrealistic and most moronic form of raiding I've heard of in any game ever. Even standing there for 12 hours is dumb as fuck. Stop pretending like you want raiding to be implemented then saying things like this lol.

because they can? they would. not saying like half world would do it but still you would find people doing it a lot, just because, they can do it.
i dont say you should stand for 24 hours and watch the clock tick down. you belong to faction, you belong to group that can muster enough people so you can change places.

youre just dumb if you think you should be able to raid in few hours a place, that takes days to build, months to maintain and just for being able to be destroy in few hours, where you might not even manage to do anything, just lose everything between sessions? shield mechanic was okay, its not my fault that people are being shitstains and not even trying to defend themselfs and so you are standing there just watching.

just because you wouldnt raid someone because 20steel of bars is much for you, i have bad news. any resource that you can storage, you can later use out of boredom to raid some noobs just to have some fun. rust / wildterra / cryofall and all other similar to those games provided that much. if youre bored and you stocked up a lot of resources (a lot possible botten in haven) wont stop anybody. time is the only thing that will make a difference between real raids and noob shitters.

IMHO the main problem with 'siege' is the binary outcome - either nothing happens of the place gets flattened, with the former being boring for PvP players and the latter being reason to quit for the victims (leading to boredom for PvP players as they run out of targets).

We need something inbetween.

I will have to say in the longer worlds, particularly last one and w7 (w6 was so laggy it was painful to come back), people showed back up that wouldn't have had a wipe been expected in a few months, but it was more of trickle rather than a large "jump back in" event like a reset brings. At least, that's my take of it from reading the forums.

This particular message was about Rust wipes, not HnH ones :D
