"About" overlap

Postby Temessis » Sat Aug 29, 2015 12:45 pm

In "About" overlap we can read: "Haven & Hearth is a MMORPG"

From wiki (https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/MMORPG translated from polish):

Translated
MMORPG games are mostly free productions with optional access to shops which allows you to buy virtual items for premium currency (bought for real money). Without any microtransations it is possible to play for free, but in some games these shopping gives you advantage in-game. There is just few MMORPG games, that need fixed fees for subscribers, and these games recently moved to hybrid model or became totally free games, working on Free-To-Play model.

I do not understand this system.
It makes me feel bad. All holidays waiting for disappointment.
Sad to hear it :c

Well, WoW is a staple of MMORPG games and it's subscription based as well, my fellow polak.

I understand it, WoW was 'wow' because its give you a lot of content and stable gameplay :) Here with crashes and even nobody said that will be P2P
I played H&H for 5 years and charm of this game was that it's Play for Free

Yup, but the charm won't feed you and pay for the server. I mean, I do not completely agree with current system, but I don't want it to be f2p. In the long run, they could upgrade servers with our money and make it their full time job, giving us a lot of updates.

Believe me, if they would add a lot of content of type: "Horse clothes, hats, pants" and other estetical items for 0,49-0,99€ I would buy it and buy it, because everyone wants that their character looks nice, and its simplier to buy something for 0,49€ today, and 0,49€ tommorow etc. than buy 15$. A lot of players of H&H was kids - "Hey mom give me 15$ per month" - "No..."... They anyway won't earn on this P2P system. It will be 200-300 people which will paid this 15$. Ok. They won't play next, because H&H will be boring. Why? 200 people in this big world, so, there won't be large villages like DIS, PH and so on, there will be boring, because for example I will pay, but my friend no, so what? I will play alone, and THIS IS A LOT OF FUN TO PLAY ALONE, even with friend, I will build village, buy minehole and what? I won't do with this anything, because there won't be trading, with 200 people??? I don't think so that these which will paid, will play more than 3-5 months.

Edit:
Or I don't know, horse for 1-2-3 days for X.XX€, there is a lot of ideas better than force players to pay 15$, cheaper ideas, because there is more chance to buy by 100 people items for 0,99€ than buy subscription for 15$ by 3-5 people. They lost ~70% people so I guess this game die in few months

That wiki entry is just bad. That is how MMOs try to squeeze more money out of you nowadays, it wasn't always this way.

Also: How hard is it not to make new threads about the subscription model? There is a big one in the C&I...
