The risk is that someone comes and takes the boat, and server decides it is perfectly fine to still make your character appear in the exact same spot when you log back in. You should be able to log back to the boat if this doesn't happen.

If you meant "High Seas" then you're probably screwed. (There are some 10-tile gaps of "odeeper" -terrain that can be reasonably crossed with a Rowboat.)

It's also possible that you simply get "the space you logged out in, isn't available" and simply appear at your HF.
